I want to take a small trip outside of Houston with the Gf, any ideas??

    New Braunfels/San Antonio is close and nice.

    You could always get back home relatively fast.

    For a weekend trip, there are some cool bed and breakfast places in the Fredricksburg area. You could stay there, hit some of the wineries, and head into Austin.

    My favorite weekend trip from Houston is....New Orleans. Cheap flights if you book in advance, no need for a rental car once you get there, always awesome hotel deals.

    The Strand in Galveston is perfect for that kind of thing. Should be a nice day tomorrow too.
