ay W22 Streak... if there is no other player available..then we don't have to go after anybody. We can try to attain draft picks with some assets (like Lowry, or Martin's expiring, budinger, morris, etc.) and then try to rebuild from the ground up through the draft. Maybe after we have a few very nice young assets with tons of potential..then we can grab the franchise player we want..if we didn't already draft him What is the point in trying to grab a nice player now..if he is not going to lift us to a position in which we can compete for a championship today..or even in the coming years. gasol doesn't do either of those two.
$ for $ I agree that Scola is better. Gasol is definitely the more skilled player, and would probably put of 20/10 given the minutes and touches. I wonder at his age if he can handle being the focal point of an offense, the subject of double and triple teams? I know you say Scola is the same age, but at $5 or $6 M per year less, no one is asking Scola to be the first scoring option. Finally, getting Gasol now would be a "win now" move. We currently don't have the personnel (I.e. shooters) to build our team around a dominant big man. Especially one commanding a near max contract. We'd instantly become the easiest team to defend in the league.
ayy homie .. i hear yhu maynn.. buh da fing iz da **** yhu wer preachin' abowt dun work maynn... we keep gettin' 14th pikkz yr afta yr... ya digg??? we need sum all starz maynn
if Kobe Bryant passed to Bynum and Gasol more instead of going after his own shot, the Lakers would win a lot more games.
Arjun's list: 1. Lebron James 2. Kevin Durant 3. Kobe Bryant 4. Dwayne Wade 5. Dwight Howard 6. Chris Paul 7. Rajon Rondo- NO 8. Deron Williams- NO 9. Derrick Rose 10. Russell Westbrook 11. Dirk Nowitzki 12. Carmelo Anthony 13. Kevin Love 14. Lamarcus Aldridge- NO 15. Paul Pierce- 16. Tony Parker- NO 17. Joe Johnson- NO 18. Blake Griffin- NO 19. Josh Smith- NO 20. Andrew Bynum
excuse me?? some are debatable..but if you dont think these two are better than Gasol then you are crazy my friend.
so if i translate that crap...you say that we need to get some all starts to not get the 14th pick..thus u say to get Pau Gasol,. I say that Pau Gasol won't get us anything but the playoffs. I want more, thus i say NO to gasol...and try to get a higher pick by using our assets to trade up..or just getting rid of them and being bad for a couple years. You have to break an egg to make an omelet.
Mike Brown's coaching style: Get ball to Kobe. Let Kobe shoot. Let Kobe dribble. Let Bynum rebound and get putbacks. Ignore Bynum's anger as he ignores huddle and sits on bench. Gasol will pout out on the floor, Bynum will give McGee's-Mom expressions. These guys are not utilized well. It was the same thing with Cleveland. Give superstar the ball; do not argue with the superstar. Gasol would be perfect for this team except for his oh-my-Gawd price tag and the upcoming gonna-exhaust-him-for-next-season Olympics.
I agree that Rondo and D-Will are great players, but skilled bigs are scarce and are worth more. There are plenty of skilled guards in the NBA.
Again, Mike Brown can't control his star player. Some of that is on Kobe but Brown is a Puss when it comes to dealing with Superstars (Lebron for example).
This guy. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/lwel27H0wCY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Should we root for the Clippers today?
no way. sorry. i completely disagree. disappears for way too long. no way that guy is the best player on a team that is a real contender. sorry.
