You see what you want to see. You have it so embedded in your mind that these Clippers are a bunch of dirty floppers that you let everything slide when the Grizzlies do the same thing. It's just a sheep mentality. It's ok. I'm glad I'm entertaining you though.
I'm sorry dude. CP3 is the best player in the NBA at manipulating refs. He is a genius on the court. He will take the call even a tech and sacrifice one point because he knows the refs will be thinking about it and give the Clippers an extra call. Like when CP3 got a tech this game, HE WASNT TOUCHED. Gasol and Z-Bo don't really flop. Especially Z-Bo. I feel bad for him. Reggie Evans is getting so many of his flops called on him after he murders Z-Bo on the post. I admit Z-Bo is physical, but you can't call the flops, if you're allowing Evans to be that insanely physical with Z-Bo.
CP3 got a tech because Gasol threw an elbow to clear his space (it didn't make contact but throwing an elbow is supposed to be an offensive foul). Gasol flops all the time, I don't know what game you are watching. ZBo is not a flopper but he is a dirty defensive player and holds on pretty much every rebound (rarely called). "Physical" defense is "fouling" defense unless you have a defensive reputation. But it's ok as long as the refs let the holds and pushes go both ways. This series, they haven't, which is why Griffin is in foul trouble every game and the Grizz shoot like 40FTs a game.
Calm down, man. I know it's hard after a loss. And I don't blame you for being a homer. All fans have some homerism in them, or they wouldn't be fans in the first place.
gasol threw an elbow. Hahahaha Paul extends his arm to clear space every play. Isn't that an offensive foul?
Of course I'm going to be biased for the team I'm rooting for .. everyone is. But understand that you all are doing the same thing because there is so much Clipper hate. It is really impossible to be completely objective here. But I will say that the Clippers have been battling in the paint (and have plenty of big guys) and are getting called for a lot more fouls than the Grizzlies despite this "flopping" allegedly being so effective at getting them calls.
No wonder you don't think the Clippers flop. You actually believe that Paul and Griffin are legitimately fouled even when there's no contact....
Also, go to the top of this thread and read my posts before the series vs. everyone else's (especially "what"). I predicted a hard fought 6 or 7 game series where HCA would be paramount. Who was more biased?
Throwing an elbow that whiffs is an offensive foul, by the rulebook. And I didn't say the Clippers don't flop... they flop more than any team in the NBA. But they don't get enough calls off them to justify it being an effective strategy. They are at the bottom of the league in FT differential despite having a superstar that lives in the paint. Analyze that.
My assessment/ suggestion to hollins: I think I've figured out the problem. The grizzlies can't match the clippers speed. In the fourth quarter, once the grizzlies get tired the clippers are throwing out 6 guys: Nick Young Caron butler Chris Paul Eric Bledsoe Mo Williams Randy Foye While the grizzlies best offense involves Mike Conley, who, because he is our only true pg, he is having to deal with a fresh player the whole game. What's happening is that Hollins is playing either tony allen or pondexer or conley on Paul at all times. Vinny Del Negro is countering by rotating 5 shooters in and out of the game: There is always 3 small players from the clippers in the game spotting up. If the grizzlies counter by putting in: OJ, Q or Allen, and Conley: we have to make a decision. Either we match up size wise down low with Zach and Gasol, or we give up an advantage by putting Rudy in the game with either Zach, Spieghts or Gasol. I'd like to see a lineup of Conley, Q and Allen: and a big rotation of Marc, Rudy, Gasol and Randolph. The grizzlies HAVE to negate this quickness advantage. I don't think Hollins wants to do this because he's worried that they won't guard our back court. I get that, but if we came out with this lineup and had OJ and Rudy on the bench we could match up better. Plus we could get their bigs in foul trouble.
Bledsoe has absolutely stifled Conley in the 4th quarter and I have no idea why he didn't come in at the end of the game tonight. I agree that the Grizz are getting burned out from the active play in the first three quarters, but there is also a mental component where they don't know what to do with a lead (stall vs play their normal offense). They desperately need some leadership.
the grizzlies went from down 10 to overtime. i don't think it's mental. besides, you guys have won by 1 point in 2 of your 3 wins and the 3rd win went to overtime. I wouldn't be that braggadocios about ya'll so called mental edge. The grizzlies just lack quality ball handling guards behind conley and conley is having to do everything on both ends of the court. It's got to be exhausting for him.
Sure, Blake Griffin lives in the paint, and he was 4th in the NBA in free throw attempts this season. Chris Paul was #21 in FTA. Who else on the Clippers has a game thats conducive to drawing fouls?
yes, the Grizzlies went from down 10 to overtime when Vinny pulled Bledsoe (another brilliant move from our genius coach), and Conley then orchestrated the comeback. The Clippers clearly have the mental edge, c'mon. You know you were ****ting bricks when the Clippers started to come back. Lucky our two best players conveniently got injured. But other than that, these two teams are about as evenly matched as two teams can be. This is why I thought your posts at the beginning were such a joke, and I'm glad to be vindicated, no matter what ends up happening (although if Paul can play, it's Clippers in 6).
dude, how many bricks did you guys lay in the 4th quarter in games four and five. Once again, call it what you want, I call it playing dirty myself.
