The Nuggets basically said: We are going shut down and limit Bynum's shot attempts tonight and dare the Lakers to beat us with jumpers. 8 shots for Bynum was the story of the game.
Anybody who mentions Javale Mcgee and Thabust in the same sentence, should be forced to sit down and watch Hasheem Thabeet's NBA highlights for 2 full weeks straight non-stop. And then watch how Javale McGee played tonight... Javale Mcgee has insane potential. he is incredibly fast for a big man, throw that with his insane athletic ability, and you have a Tyson Chandler on STERIODS( if he could get his mind right) If this guy just needed to be coached all this time, and to be put around vets. Then the Nuggets may have gotten a steal
Drew will be out to prove a point Thursday. Mike Brown with some motivational gasoline after the game. J.A. Adande @jadande Mike Brown on Bynum's "easy" comment: "If a guy wants to say that...he's got to back it up."
"Closeout games are actually kind of easy," Bynum had said a day earlier. "Teams tend to fold if you come out and play hard in the beginning." http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nba--a...uggets.html;_ylt=AsMiItVTkknqgh6Tc7GhQCc5nYcB Everyone like to talk about how much of scatterbrained person McGee, if so, Bynum is not too far behind, though Bynum is more arrogant and immature about it. What makes it even worse, Bynum is nowhere close to being any kind of superstar, he's had a couple of nice games, this year. But, I am not one to pretend that he's some sort of superstar or will match someone, like Dwight Howard who is at least consistent, plays with intensity on most nights, and acts little more professional (on the court). But, I will say the current crop of star centers in the league are rather revolting. I guess it was all down hill from Yao Ming.
He's a little off. If he doesn't get his touches, sometimes he allows that to dictate his game. He has to force the issue more and be more aggressive. He averaged 19 and 12 on 56% shooting (21/11 since ASG). That's a great year, not just a couple of nice games. I do admit he's still VERY immature, but this is his first year reaching his potential. Hopefully he realizes b/c he's on his way to a great career (if he keeps his head on straight). Yesterday was disappointing. 8 shots. REALLY? If you want to back up your statements, you demand 20 shots and close a team out.
You are correct. If the Lakers win game 6, they will start at OKC Saturday evening on TNT. Heat/Pacers game 1 is on Sunday.
You are right. Mentally Bynum isn't that far ahead of McGee. I have doubts about whether he ever really fulfills his potential.
