    nope

his point was to minimize the slave connotations.
Malcolm X would be ashamed of what rimbaud was doing.

Hardly. His point was to minimize what you were doing, and he did, and you basically soiled yourself by claiming a post said something it didn't.

Not one of your better efforts.

Arrogance is a job requirement. I don't see how any sane person would be willing put themselves through the grind to become President without having a huge ego.

Anyway on subject of this thread I am not really seeing the racism in criticism of Obama for this. This is just the Karl Rove playbook to try to go after a perceived strength like Swiftboating Kerry. I don't think race matters as I suspect the GOP would do the same thing if it was Hillary Clinton or Joe Biden as President.

I personally think this is a losing issue for them though. The more the Republicans point out that Obama is spiking the football the more it reminds the public that OBL was killed under Obama's watch.

    Actually no.

He tried to pick a small point about my post and make a big deal about it and show that he had some knowledge about the word. That was the silly game he was playing.

Point stands that "negro" clearly has slave connotations today. So my point stands.

    "One drop rule".

I don't see what bigtexxx is getting at. Had Obama been born 100 years ago, he'd be treated with blatant disrespect bigtexxx is heaping at him.

    Oops, I meant more.

"N*gg*r" also has slave connotations, but that doesn't stop people from using the word in reference to Obama. The connotations are much more general than simply slave ancestry. Its a way of referring to black people disrespectfully. And there's little doubt that Obama's black heritage and perceived cultural associations plays a big role in the anger and hatred towards him coming from your political circle.

You are extremely disrespectful to the president and his office, you should be ashamed of yourself.

    Good Lord!

Does anyone want to discuss the election or where the candidates stand on the issues?

Yes. Please compare and contrast Obama's and Romney's foreign policy.

    Thanks in advance.

Obama - used U.S. diplomacy to establish effective sanctions against Iran for it's nuclear program. Now even the head of the ISraeli military doesn't believe Iran will establish a nuclear weapon.

Romney - less willing to use diplomacy and more willing to engage the U.S. militarily. More lock step with Israel's right wing.

Obama willing to make the call and over rule advisors to send a team into Pakistan and take out Osama

Romney - would not send a team in to take out Osama.

    That's just a start.

Why is anyone using the word n*gger or negro when discussing the President? If you do not like him or his politics, so be it, half the country does not.. But come on, no need to call him an uppity negro, he didn't piss in your cereal, kick your dog or key your car...

Please note that thread starter is a supporter of Obama and used the word because he says he imagines people using it when they criticize Obama.

    Fixed

Go back and read post #26.

Again, if you are trying to be rude and condescending, it is perfectly reasonable to call Obama a negro. Just because Obama is a half-breed (which is what you really want to call him) doesn't mean the term doesn't apply.

Inject Obama into America 200 years ago and he'd be picking cotton ...or at a minimum, he'd be living very differently than the pure bred whites (whatever that means).
