Hi also new here from Slovenia. Not here to whine about your jokes as long as they are funny Just to explain to you the Dynex situation and give you an update on his interview. I grew up in the same neighborhood as Gogi. And he could care less if he bought a Sony or a Dynex. (nobody in Slovenia has ever heard of Dynex) He grew up in a one bedroom apartment about 30 square meters (you can convert ) And when he singed his NBA contract he and his family moved to 3 bedroom apartment about 90 square meters. He is not the kind of guy who will spend his money just because he can. He is humble and modest and really competitive in a good way. He is the same old Gogi as we used to play ball with. he probably doesn't think alot about fancy stuff because he is not used to wantig them. While growing up a lot of us dreamed about playing in the NBA and so did Goran. But he dreamed because it was the best league in the world and had the best players. Not because he wanted to be rich and drive in fancy cars and have 70 inch TVs like a lot of American players. Intresting parts of the interwiev: Favourite cities to live in: Miami, Phoenix, San Diego least favourite: Minny, Memphis Best friends on the team: Lee, Bud He prefers Phoenix to Houston as far as living conditions but Houston has some charms Players who left biggest impressions: Shaq, Nash, Hill Who is the most cocky player he played against: Westbrook In the summer he plans to work on his right hand (dribble, layups,...) And yeah he said he hopes they can work something out with Houston in the FA
Just to clarify to our Slovenian friends: Nobody is seriously criticizing Dragic for the Dynex. And we don't seriously think that Slovenia is a poor backward country -- seems to be quite beautiful, actually. It's just funny how different he is from the stereotype of an NBA player. For example, I think Gilbert Arenas has a shark tank built around his TV.
Hey I am from Slovenia too. I read this boards a lot, when I need to unwind. And now I just had to post. May I say, I get a lot of entertainment from this threads. From both US and Slovenian posters.
Apparently Gilbert just wants to be a regular dude these days! http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2012/writers/sam_amick/02/20/gilbert.arenas.qa/index.html
lol, like he answered on this question yesterday: Would you go play for San Antonio with Cup ambition, but in a back up role or would you rather sign for the club that offers starter position and less money(I guess)? ''..if I wouldn't be a starter then I'd be unhappy.
Let me guess, your heart jumped a little as well when you saw that picture of Goran surfing Clutchfans. Haha, no harm done; pretty sure it's a photoshop. (Jagged / pixelated edges on the viewing pane, and would realistically expect more glare)
