Spoiler My guess on that would be that Hawkeye didn't enter the carrier with the specific goal of knocking out the second engine at that exact time, but that he had enough awareness to know that Iron Man was getting the first engine back up and running any minute, and he went ahead and knocked out the second one in order to keep the chaos going. And then, after taking off with Loki in the jet, he would have fired another explosive arrow into another engine, thus sending it crashing down after they were safely away. That's just my guess, if you were to press Whedon about it, as to how he would rationalize it.
Whatque? He was a villain? I would like to see him be a villain to a superhero. Are there any? Also any clue as to the game I played on nintendo with Capt. featuring some dude with a bow and arrow?
It was probably Hawkeye. Was it this one? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Captain_America_and_the_Avengers He's been in a lot of video games. Both of them have, actually. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Captain_America_in_other_media
I'm not REALLY jonesing to overanalyze a popcorn superhero flick, but Spoiler it seemed evident that it was a scripted move - Sam Jackson remarks that the attack on the bridge seemed pointless, so why were they even trying --> to divert attention from Hawkeye setting up his kill shot. He didn't go up there randomly. I think I will go ahead and decide that he wanted the controlled fall to allow for their escape. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/JPWqC71Kmdc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Pentagon Quit The Avengers Because of Its ‘Unreality’ I don't know if I am more disappointed in our government because of their sorry excuse or because they feel a need to have a Hollywood liaison for the Defense Department. Throw some spoiler tags on that thejav. Writing 'spoilers' does not suffice.
I'm not sure why some people here keep saying Marvel can't combine the xmen/spiderman/avengers franchises in a movie together. Remember, studios have a right to produce and distribute specific marvel content based on rights however it DOES NOT mean they "own" that property. Marvel can always restructure a contract with one or multiple studios, once rights have expired, to have character tie ins from multiple marvel franchise in a theatrical release. Fox, Sony, Disney, - they don't "own" any of it. Anyways, I just saw Avengers. My thoughts: - Joss Whedon did a fantastic job blending all characters - Would be helpful to the average fan to watch Thor before Avengers. Thor had many character tie ins with avengers. - Speaking of Thor, thought he could of had more screen time than captain america. - Definitely worth watching the movie in 3D, it was pretty awesome how the technology has improved. - Ruffalo did a great job portraying Bruce Banner. Norton who? - For a second I thought in the end credit scene it was Red Skull but realized he died in captain america!
The problem is, the contracts weren't written so that the rights expired at a specific date - they were written so that if the "leasing" studio did not make a movie after a certain period of time (5-6 years, if I'm right), the rights went back to Marvel. Marvel just recently reacquired Punisher and Blade, and are close to reacquiring Fantastic Four. Sony and FOX were fairly determined not to lose Spiderman and X-Men, hence the quick reboots.
Yes. My main point is that there's always a possibility for Marvel to structure a contract where they could want to see any of the franchise characters be featured in a movie together. After all, Marvel owns the intellectual property for the all marvel characters in the universe so when they do reacquire the right, anything is possible. I was just bugged about some of the posts here saying since the studio owns it it can never be done. Just not true.
Know what just made my day? Thinking about how greedy and unoriginal hollywood is, with Avengers doing so damn well, there are going to be TONS of superhero/comic book movies coming out soon. Hells to the yeah, maybe even a new Spawn movie. But more so than anything I think this tells DC how profitable/massive a justice league movie could be. Get off your asses DC.
Nope, spiderman is locked up for another 3 movies I believe, and since they are doing an origin story, AGAIN, they wouldn't be able to bring him into the Avengers in a logical way. Plus the version that they are doing now wouldn't fit, at least to me. Spiderman is a powerhouse in the comics, I don't think this kid is going to be portrayed that way.
I thought the Avengers have other members, if I'm correct I remember seeing this one dude at a recent Avengers cartoon, Black Panther? Or something like that. He's dressed like an actual panther and such, don't know if he's affiliated with the civil rights organization. And isn't there another chick there? With insect wings or something? Wasp? Update: nevermind. I just google imaged "the avengers members" and holy **** there are hundreds.
I read an interview that basically stated red skull didn't die. He'll probably turn up in the next captain America or avengers.
