Phoenix maybe interested if Nash decides to move on. If that happens, Morey needs to pry away Gortat from Phoenix and we'd have our Center.
there has been a llull thread floating around somewhere. i believe some people who have some experience watching llull added some insight about him.
No. I didn't hear anything about him wanting to start. I just assumed he would rather start than come off the bench for limited minutes.
We would be robbing Llull of his talent having him back-up either Lowry or Dragic. It would be a waste. Especially if he is as good as advertised.
Llull is a combo guard that currently plays starting PG for his team but seems more of a scoring PG though. I hope we don't trade his rights away, cause I believe he can come over & drastically improve the team as a 6th man type getting playing time at both guard positions. I remember him saying that he doesn't want to come over & sit on the bench which is understandable but sure he wouldn't complain getting that kind of playing time. I don't believe Dragic is getting re-signed though their parading it, just won't happen IMO. We sign a vet PG to a 1yr deal, then they bring Llull over the following year, cause this season isn't happening. He'll play backup to Lowry but if Coach McHale sees fit to place him into the starting lineup as Coach Adelman did Rubio, then great Lowry would be in the last year of his contract anyway. For the 2013-14 season bring over Llull & sign Harden & lets see how far we go!!
I think that Lull is a candidate to come to the NBA this season. Maybe with the Rockets or maybe via trade, but he has proven he is amongst the best basketball players in the Euro league!!! And Spanish basketball is among the most respected in all of Europe and the World.
There's a strict limit on what the team can contribute towards a European buyout. Unless it has changed, Alexander can only pay $500,000 of Llull's contract buyout. The rest is supposed to come out of his pocket. A mutually agreed compromise can be worked out, where the team lowers the amount, but why would the Spanish team do that? They see Llull as a valuable member of the team, both as a player and as someone popular with their fans. We might like him to come over this summer (I certainly would!), and he might like to come over this summer, but Llull isn't going to pay millions to do so, in my opinion. My guess is that he'll come over the following summer, when the buyout (if there still is one) will be considerably smaller. There are obvious dangers involved. His Spanish team could offer him a terrific deal if he'll sign an extension (and probably will). There's the comradery with his teammates. His relationship with that organization. The fans there. There's an awful lot pulling on him to stay besides multiple years and millions of dollars. We do have a trump card. We're his door into the best league on the planet. We can put him in an NBA uniform and place him on basketball's biggest stage. I hope that's enough to tip the balance in our favor.
