Lately I've noticed my I've been grinding my teeth in my sleep. Girlfriend even said it has been bad. I know it's because of stress: graduation, applying for jobs, naggy girlfriend, mother was just in an accident etc. I've been reading online about it, saw some interesting stuff. I don't want to bother with getting a mouth guard, I think I wont be able to sleep with one in. I know I just need to find ways to reduce my stress, I'm going to try some herbal teas and holding a warm washcloth on my jaws before I go to sleep. Has anyone had this problem, and found ways to deal with it?
Don't **** around; get a night guard. I did a lot of damage to my teeth in my 20s due to grinding. If you're only a student and the stress is causing you to grind at night, imagine what it's going to be like when you're 30 with bills to pay, mortgage, etc. At this rate, you'll probably also develop migraines as well. I did.
Thanks man for the advice. Thing is it's never been a problem until the past 2 weeks. Never had it and I used to work full time at a restaurant, not sure how much more stressful work can get ha.
Any programs/activities that could help reduce stress? Try Yoga lessons at your local area. Or maybe something like kick boxing classes that could help release some of that tension. That is, if you have the time.
But if it is a latent sign of homosexuality, wouldn't yoga make me go full rainbow? . But ya I know I just need to relieve myself of stress. Lately I'm been going on 1 hr hikes with my dog if I can spare the time.
