With McGee, he says the most inane and insipid things, while he does showboat at times. Though, he's still only at the tip of the iceberg as far as his production goes, since he was stuck with the Wizards which stunted his progress. At this moment, he probably ranks competitively amongst the top 12-18 centers, right now. The league does not posses a great number of really good centers, right now. Even in his offensive struggles, you cannot tell me he's not a better offensive option than say DeAndre Jordan, Joahkim Noah, Al Horford, or etc. When it comes to athleticism, he is arguably one of the most athletic centers (and big men) in the league. Moreover, he only lacks discipline, a few fundamental flaws (free throw shooting), and post moves. With a good teacher or coach, McGee can still pick up those things. If he stays with the Nuggets (doesn't demand some ridiculous salary), then he should be much more improved, next season. With regards to the market, the Nuggets are not going to find a quality center comparable to McGee in the off-season, unless they spend the money or make a blockbuster trade. With minutes, he could easily become a consistent double-double player and peak at maybe 15 ppg to 18 ppg and 10 rebs to 13 rebs, possibly averaging more blocks than Dwight Howard. His 36 minute outlook stats indicate that he may have been one for the last few seasons.
I honestly think McGee can develop into a good player, mentally. He's got a great winning environment now, not to mention a great coach in Karl. I could see him being the long-term C for the Nuggets; great replacement seeing as Nene left.
That woulda been the time to start the league. Would been a better progression of the woman's game from Cheryl Miller whooping poor saps (and using some of Reggie's fame) Nancy Lieberman woulda laced it up, into the Dawn Staleys, Rebecca Lobos, etc.Timing DOES matter. Cuz if you're to put out women's league NOW, women would have to instantly have a product even more on par with men, and they'd be falling way shorter in people's eyes. Not saying itd make for some dynamic jump, and maybe even then it wouldnt hold people's attention. But maybe you get 2-3 Candace Parkers in a decade instead of just one "in a lifetime", to have more viablity to the league. Maybe its kinda how they say women make "better" managers. Maybe a sense they're valuing development and well being a LITTLE more than the "bring it or go home" mantra
has there ever been a women's anything in the NBA? head coach, assistant coach, gm, president??? will there ever be a women's coach in the nba
