Some may have already seen this. Make sure you watch the ground angle [2nd vid]. WARNING: The 2nd vid (ground angle) DOES get a little bloody. Okay, so maybe I'm jumping the gun calling the guy an idiot... but YOU be the judge!! <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Rd6pBlgiDd4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Ground Angle: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/vaTWW1f3Jb4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> You can seen from the ground angle that the same guy that kicked the car door was the guy that got ran over. Justice much?
Thanks for posting. Funny drunk thinks he can take a cab in a fight with his foot. LOL I found the story on NY Daily News. The cops charged the cabbie with aggravated assault.
He tried to drive off. Then one idiot jumped on top of his car, another idiot jumped in front of it and got run over. Cabbie shouldn't have to face any charges. A witness said there was likely a dispute between cab fare, the passengers were drunk and belligerent. The cabbie only tried to get what he deserved. The passengers became violent. Cabbie tried to get away. The cabbie doesn't deserve a hit and run charge either. If he had gotten out to assist, with the way the passengers were already violent, they would have mauled the cabbie to death.
I agree that all those people were idiots. I just think the cab driver had a few chances to drive away without hurting anyone, but did not use the absolute best judgement. If I was on the jury, the chance of me finding the cabbie guilty for anything would be slim.

If you guys could even comprehend what's happening in Montreal and Quebec these days--- it's like a front-row seat to total chaos

As for the taxi driver, he's an idiot for running the guy over, but I have some sympathy knowing that people who leave St.Laurent (myself included) are often drunk and probably the worst people to deal with.
I don't see how the idiot survives that. I think the aggravated assault charge is fair. I think the leaving the scene of an accident is fair, because the guy could have stopped his car down the street and called the cops, but hindsight is 20/20. I think everyone in the mob that attacked the car should be charged as accessories to the assault (they contributed to the guy getting run over, technically), and public intoxication/disturbing the peace. I think the idiot that got himself run over should be charged with disorderly conduct, vandalism, and menacing. But this is a different country, and I know nothing about law.
