I'm a fan of Rondo's, but this bothers me. Imagine for a sec you're traded to or drafted to a team with one of the greatest shooters of all-time, what would you do? Wouldn't you try to learn as much as possible from him?

Rondo is an idiot. Always has been and always will be. If I were him, I would be learning from the greatest shooter of all time every day. Too bad Rondo is too stupid to see that opprotunity.

Rondo is one of the most intelligent persons playing in the NBA, his former coaches and teammates shared this. Many think he would make a great coach or GM. Don't write **** about Rondo when you don't know him at all.

He might not be stupid but it is pretty foolish not to take advantage of working out with Allen.

Lol.... it is... but it is not like Rondo is a SG.....
A PG with great shooting is good but you can't force it....
Now IF Rondo were a Shooting guard and not learning from Allen, that is another issue

he doesnt need to be the best shooter but just improve enough to be a threat. his only weak point is his jumper and if he improves that then he opens up more opportunities for his teammates. a pg who can shoot is a lot more effective. doesnt mean he has to go kobe every time down the floor.

Rondo is one of those guys who is a total warrior during games but isn't completely dedicated to basketball when the lights go out. It's just who he is and likely will never change. He still gets the job done. Not everybody is programmed like Kobe, Ray Allen, KD, etc where everything else (besides maybe family) is secondary to the practice court.

Same thing goes for scola. Nobody appreciates his post game. They only want to party with him and drink.

If he hasn't been able to learn to shoot in his first 20 or so years of playing basketball, the odds of Ray Allen being able to teach him are fairly low.

He shoots a low percentage of threes throughout his career but this does not mean his mid range game is poor.

He has a career FG of 48 pct which includes jumpers, and 45 pct this season. This is decent and has been good in a couple of seasons when he shot 50 percent from the field

Maybe he hangs around PP a lot and that could be intimidating for the younger players. Total speculation, but PP looks like the type that wouldn't want to be disturbed.

Kyle Lowry is evidence is what hard work and dedication can do to your jumper. He's not a great shooter, but he's improved a MILE from his pre-Houston shooting skills.

exactly, Shooting is one they you can drastically improve after going into the NBA by just practicing a lot. There are a lot of examples of players coming into the league with a suspect jumper and becoming at least a decent shooter after 2-3 years.

    Don't know what's up with Rondo's jumper

He shoots 27.8% from 10-15 ft out, 39% from 16-23, and an eFG of 35.7% from three. That's bad. His ability of finish inside or get fast break layups is why is fg% is high.

58.5% free throw shooting over the last two years.

He's six years in the league now. Nothing's going to fix his shot. Perhaps if he had dedicated himself to repeating the mechanics on his jumper from the day he entered the league, he'd be a halfway decent shooter by now. But that ship has sailed.
