Baskin Robbins- It taught me not too many people buy ice cream in the winter. Also free samples are not unlimited.
The one at Fondren and Braeswood? I grew up at that YMCA. The fence of my back yard was right on the other side of it until my house burned down when I was 12 and we moved.
At first I was like "oh cool he probably knows Precision340" and then went to "oh man that's depressing"
It's still a special place to me, that YMCA, and it would still be cool if I knew Precision340 from then, but I'm on the old side (43). He was probably there after my time.
Projectionist @ movie theatre when I was 16. Taught me time management, technical skills (building/setting up sound systems, building film, building projectors, etc.). And allowed me to watch movies every Thursday night in a big ass theater with just me, my girlfriend and some friends while getting paid.
Teleflora web services based here in the Philippines.. I'm making under $200 a month. i learned that updating/maintaining over 5000 florist websites is a really hard
I worked at a pet kennel bathing dogs and cats and cleaning up after them. I was extremely shy and introverted back then. I really liked working with the animals and not so much the people. I learned that you don't put your dog in a ****ing kennel. The cats don't care. It might as well be hell for most of the dogs. If you do put them in a kennel make sure it is a super caring place. If I was to put my dogs in a kennel I would almost go as far to work in the back with the people there to make sure no bad stuff was going on. I remember coming in one morning to a bloody cage that a dalamatian had tried to get out of. His paws were all messed up and bloodied. It looked a lot worse than it ended up being, but it was really sad seeing how some of these dogs just totally freaked. Oh and I also learned...if you try to give a cat a bath don't put them on a leash like they do with dogs at the groomers. It's a great way to get a cat to try to break their necks if you do that. Grab them by the back of their neck and hold on tight or else you get bit or scratched. Moral of the story....don't give cats a bath. I also learned don't do a large amount of cleaning with 50/50 bleach and water. Good god that was r****ded when I did that. I finished cleaning, but my mucus membranes were raped. It may have been all bleach....who knows...I might as well have just tried to clean with hydrochloric acid. Not the brightest idea ever
