Wow, I didn't imagine playing football could lead to depression and have lead to suicide. I don't understand why the NFL isn't doing anything about this. When you look at it from a bigger picture, it's just a game... and people's lives are forever changed by this.

This case is definitely going to bring reaction from current players because Seau isn't just some old timer guys have never heard of.

I think this is now the 8th member of the San Diego 94 Super Bowl team to die an untimely death. Eerie.

Junior was one of the greatest. Rest in peace.

with his long NFL career, I hope he didn't suffer brain damage that could have lead to depression or any other host of problems that could lead to suicide.

The NFL is trying to do a ton of a lot more about it. When you go pro now I feel you should be aware of the possible consequences. Comes with the territory. We're educated enough now.

They say he text his kids and ex-wife yesterday telling them he loved them and they didn't get a hint that this would eventually be the reason behind it...

Either way, so so sad for all of them. RIP

He's up for the hall of fame in 2014.

That is going to be one very solemn ceremony.

Unbelievable news. RIP Junior.....one of the greatest at his position to ever play. I wonder how much head trauma played a part in this. I'm afraid we are going to hear more and more of this type of news as our favorite players start to age.

According to report he shot himself in the chest and not the head. Maybe he left his brain for science?

That's exactly what Dave Duerson did.
