Bingo! Too many here love being disappointed by these clown stars so much so that they are blind to facts. The draft is really our only way to go.

Kudos for tossing Leonard Cohen out there, dude! Thank god, he didn't do this song when I sat in a circle with a dozen or more other folks, on the side of Castle Hill on Baylor Street in Austin, in 1969, and he played guitar and sang for 30 or 40 minutes. (The grass on the hillside was spectacular) I think a chick brought him around. He was in town for a gig, and I was in town because some girlfriends of mine were living in a cottage there... The Baylor Street b****es.

it wouldn't be tanking; it would developing the younger guys. There's a key difference.

We are going to shoot for the moon, and eventually land with a star....
I don't mind to half gut the team, the team of role players.

It's not Dwight's choice. Please get that straight. The Rockets were one of the two finalists for the Magic at the trade deadline, and most agree they have better assets than the Nets. I don't know how wise it is to give those assets, given that he might not stay long-term, but it's quite realistic to see Howard in Houston this summer. To say otherwise is just incorrect.

It's true. I just wish I wasn't old enough for it to be true. There used to be several small two room cottages on the Castle Hill side of Baylor Street. You had to walk up concrete steps, in the case of my girlfriends' pad, a bunch, to get to them, and parked on the street. We got word of what was happening and simply walked down and laid back in the grass while he played. It was a real trip. Cohen was relaxed when he got there, and a heck of a lot more relaxed when he left! Your friendly Blade Runner, among others, helping to insure that. Thinking about it, there were probably 20 people there by the time he smiled and stumbled off. ;-)-

Ah, I see the problem. I must have had Sherlock Holmes in the back of my mind after reading so much about the Avengers and Robert Downey, Jr.. Not Baker Street, but Baylor Street! You lived in Austin for 6 years, so you must have seen the "castle" on top of the hill rising from North Lamar to the west, between 6th and about 9th. That's what has you confused, and my apologies. (duh!) So they were The Baylor Street b****es. I can't believe I did that. I'll go edit my post.

I am ok with trading Martin. Keep Scola as he has worked hard for this team.
I think the Rockets will get a star. We almost had Pau Gasol! Looking forward for next season.

Aha... in my head I was thinking... where the hell is there a Baker St. over there on a hill... makes sense now. Thats funny cause that was around the same area off of Lamar that I saw Wayne Coyne rolling around the street in his Bubble a few years back. Ahhh Austin, how I miss you.

On the subject of the thread- I think Scola has some value to this team going forward.

    -Good teamate
-Adds dimension of low post scoring that is needed
-Help develop young post players in practice
-Help develop young post players by challenging them for minutes
    -Still have contract insurance (Amnesty)
-No need for capspace at the current minute
-Has the ability to fit in with a cornerstone player that might possibly be aquired

With Martin on the other hand, I think your running into a situation where the org. needs to make a decision on whether or not this is a guy that can help the team going forward or not. I think the obvious answer is that No, he's not a long term solution.

There will be ways to move him this offseason on draft day, but it will require the Rockets taking back salary most likely. If there isn't a trade out there that makes sense, you shouldn't be surprised if the Rockets have to go forward with Martin for the first half of next season, till in February 2013 when it makes more sense financially for both parties involved in a trade.

I could see this....only if at some point he agreed to come off the bench at some point if Rockets don't mind the rest of his contract Scola will always be useful with his post moves its a his rebonding and defense we're not getting and we need!
