Dislocated left shoulder while snowboarding recklessly at Squaw Valley near Tahoe. Sometimes when I play basketball by shoulder still pops out of the socket and I have to put it back in ala Mel Gibson style from Mel Gibson.

Glad you survived that, I had a classmate senior year whose younger brother collapsed during a baseball game and was dead that night for the same.

I dislocated both of my kneecaps at the same time getting gang tackled in an 8th grade football game. Didn't fumble!

Some of you guys have had some seriously impressive injuries.

My worst is probably a snapped collar bone. Took out the catchers legs sliding into home in a high school summer league game. He landed on me just right that my left clavicle snapped in half. Wasn't painful as much as it was debilitating for a while.

Had some broken bones here and there, but the worst back spasms I've ever had were easily the worst pain I've ever had.

I've also had two of the hooks on a treble hook go through my eyelid......how they didn't puncture my eye, I'll never know. Had to be cut out.

Some dumbass left a hardhead catfish (a big one) to rot on a Galveston beach once, and while I was playing frisbee, I landed on it. The fish had probably been there four or five days (covered mostly with sand), but that dorsal fin went up in my foot and hit bone. We had just gotten to the beach, so I broke off the fish, went and sat at the beach waters' edge, and tried to yank the fin out. Tried several times.......couldn't do it, and I was thinking I might pass out, so I walked on tip toe for an hour or two to give my buddies some time to enjoy the beach. Pain got to be too much though (even with several beers), and so we eventually drove back to Houston, and I went to the emergency room. Had to be cut out.

Cracked bone in arm just below the shoulder twice.

Had manhole cover dropped on my fingers (pulled them out just in time to avoid major damage but not completely unscathed), had some fingernails fall out as a result.

Car door slammed on hand. Luckily I was wearing a ring, I would've lost the finger without it. Still, the ring was cheap and had a deep "dent" in the finger. Happened in Mexico.

Split chin open 3 times. Once after falling from a bike. Once doing Tae Kwon Do. Once doing "the worm".

    Ear cut off then reattached.

    Pic after reattachment.

Ingrown hair on the shaft that required an emergency care visit, large needles to remove fluid and it resulted in an eraser size hole that eventually healed. Maybe it was psychological because of the area, but I never experience a pain like that. This comes from a person that has broken bones and an incident where I nearly scalped myself.

I broke my nose during little league. Pitch came right at my face and I couldn't move in time.

    It didn't really hurt, though.

    Haircut.

Were you perhaps cavorting with Roman soldiers trying to apprehend Jesus?

Also, you have to explain how you got your ear cut off.

    (scary one, cannonball)

Complex spiral fracture of my upper arm in an arm wrestling match. Titanium plate and screws, nasty scar on my bicep.

Broke my finger playing volleyball. Pin for two months.

    Broken nose from headbutt.

Broken knuckles from anger issues when I was young. Faces, walls, windshields, whatever. I used to hit a lot of stuff and people.

Never had anything too bad happen to me (knocking on wood.) Worse would be broken thumb and appendicitis.

Broken leg playing baseball sliding into 2nd, broken ankle playing basketball, landing on someone's foot on a rebound, broken hand playing football - diving for catch at practice landed on a sprinkler head or something on the field.

I was scratched and bitten by a dog when I was three...tore my face pretty deep in a couple places, most notably making my smile creases slightly uneven, but I was able to get a z plasty when I was 12 and now rarely anyone notices.

year and a half ago I fell off my bike at terry hershey park, was rounding a curve way too fast, lost control and fell forehead first into the cement (also tried to catch myself with one hand, jammed my shoulder and tore my rotator cuff). my forehead immediately started swelling, was huge for 3-4 days, and then settled into ridiculous bruising around my eyes. i DID NOT REALIZE that blunt trauma to the forehead pushes blood down your face causing massive shiners. Got the most pitiful looks for a few weeks...

    Looked exactly like this:

    that sucked.

I may as well remove all my skin to reduce the risk of skin cancer.

This. People might think it's "just" an ankle sprain, but it hurts like hell and your ankle is never the same. I've sprained my ankle 3 times in the past 6 months and this last time there was a small fracture. Hurt like hell :/

I broke my right arm (I'm lefthanded) in 5th grade while riding my bike in my neighborhood. My front tire caught my younger brother's back tire as I was riding behind him. I used my arm to break the fall, and it ended up hitting the curb.

My senior year of high school, which was about 2 and a half years ago, I tore the ACL in my left knee during an actual game, although I didn't realize it until the next morning, when it just ballooned in size and I could hardly move anywhere. Had no idea how I got downstairs that morning. An MRI a couple of weeks later showed that I completely tore the ACL, partially tore the lateral meniscus, and strained my MCL.
