swim coach... taught me children are little sh!theads and the parents of those said children are just as bad.
Good catch. Typical never had to work a real day in his life conservative. Talk about no schedule and wonder how many lawns mommy and daddy got for him. Poor thing with the green shoes and having to be there every other tuesday.
I started umpiring games at the Little League I grew up playing in at 15. It paid pretty well for only a couple of hours of work at a time and I liked to flirt with the girls that worked in the concession stand. What I learned, though, is that Little League parents and coaches are the worst.
Stage Manager @ my college's recital hall (first realistically paid job)/school library assistant (unpaid job)
Tech support for a local ISP during a summer internship. Learned that customers are stupid. Very very stupid. Also customer service is not rewarding at all. I have no idea how people can do it long term.
Weekend manager for National Car Rental in the Doubletree Guest Suites. My aunt owned it of course. A 16 year old couldn't ask for a better job with free rentals and 8 per hour after taxes.
Cocaine dealer. I got out of the business since then, but I learned the value of hard work, humility, and how to do cocaine without overdosing.
Pizza place. I was underage (15 years old) so they could get away paying me less than minimum wage. These jackholes worked me raw. After 3 days, I started making myself a large pizza with everything on it for my dinner. They fired me 2 weeks later. What did I learn? Never sell yourself short!
worked in a small chinese take out place, both taking orders and in the kitchen it taught me that most people are assholes
At 15 ($1.75 an hour - below min wage like Rocketman Tex) I got a job wiping down cars as they came out of car wash. It was 1 of the first pull through car washes. It taught me things like: 1) Alcoholics don't care if their beer has been sitting outside behind a sign and is well over 100 degrees. 2) Always make sure a car is neutral before going through. I drove my brothers new Camaro up and over the rails into the car wash machines. Neither my brother nor the owner were too happy that day. 3) The gunk in the bottom of the pit is the nastiest stuff I've ever had to clean out. 4) Guys with wire wheels are the worst tippers.
Did some general office and landscaping stuff at the company my mother worked. After that I made the big time...as a game attendant at Chuck E Cheese. Lasted all of 6 months before I could take the filth no more.
Bussing tables at a Japanese restaurant when I was 15. It taught me that many Japanese restaurants are owned by Koreans.
Because either nobody likes or knows enough about Korean food. Seriously. As a Korean I'd be more willing to go to a Japanese restaurant than a Korean restaurant. The only real staple of Korean food is the kalbi anyway, other than that its pretty bland.
I was a rapper at my first job. My 2nd job was hustling Clutchfans members for money, while pretending to be T-Will. It worked for a while, then Clutch blew my cover.
