i liked him in the beginning of the season, but i didnt see anything special from him after that. id rather keep camby. dalembert sometimes looked confused while camby would look like a leader sometimes. what do yall think?

I think we need to keep both if we're not getting another C. Frankly I enjoyed having a shotblocker on the floor all the time, seemed to make the game easier for everyone.

Both guys can put up 10-15 on any given night as well. I think Camby/Daly is probably one of the best C rotations. Seeing as Camby wants to live here and wants to play 4 more years, I think we can get at least one more really good year out of him.

I'd rather improve on both Forward positions. Was not happy with Patterson. Don't think Scola should be getting 30+ minutes. Budinger was good, but maybe not what we need. If we are keeping K-Mart, we need to have more defensive options at the 3.

I agree if we're not going to upgrade at center what does it hurt to sign him? It's only one year, no?

I think Camby you sign for 3 years, 4th team option. If we upgrade we have a great vet backup. The Deke role.

    Camby is Deke 2.0

Not sure what we need to upgrade most at. We're solid at every position, but not great at any. We either need a really good 2 or really good 4. There are no really good centers available. Dwight won't be here, nor will Hibbert, or Bogut. Who else is there at that position? What sgs are available? That would be the best option, cause I think everything else is solid enough to contribute to a championship team. We just need a prime tmac or yao and this is a dynasty team.

    Dragic/Lowry - Top pg rotation
    Lee/ ? - Good starter
    Parsons/Budinger - Good rotation
    Scola/Patterson/Donatas - Good rotation sometimes.
    Camby/Dalembert - Good rotation, but we don't play a center in the 4th anyways...

I say cut him apparently you're not going to play them because the other team is going to dictate that you insert the beast in the low block, ppat.

If we only use a center for 3 quarters, than might as well only have one center....

The reason to let him go is the cap impact of such a move:

    http://bbs.clutchfans.com/showpost.php?p=6818453&postcount=63

Remember, the Rockets have until July 8, 2012 to decide on his contract. Assuming no big trades until then, letting Dalembert and Camby go would allow the Rockets have roughly 8.1 mil in cap room, and more than $12 mil (possibly up to nearly 14 mil) if they renounce the Bird Right on either Dragic or Lee. In such a scenario, the question is whether there is a better use for that money than bringing back Dalembert.

Let's say you can sign Kris Humphries or Gerald Wallace with the money, or use the cap room to sign or trade for Eric Gordon, would u still rather keep Dalembert or Camby?

A lot can happen until them. If the team takes on significant salary in a trade before then (likely only if they also add significant talent in such a trade) and eliminating all possibility of having cap room, it may make sense to keep Dalembert. His contract can be traded to a team looking to cut salary since it is only partially guaranteed. The team may also get rid of significant salary before then, which makes bringing back Dalembert more of a reasonable decision.

Def. resign on Camby, great attitude and hustle with possibly less elbows in practice.. For Sam I am not sure I recall the exact numbers on his contract but if he isn't taking in alot of space I feel he is worth keeping even if we move him to third string. It would be amazing to be deep at the center spot with actual bigs.

Keep him. He's our top +/- player according to http://www.82games.com/1112/1112HOU.HTM

It's okay to pay him one more year if that means we have shotblockers at both C positions. He's frustrating because he can't play more than 20 good minutes of basketball but with Camby here he won't need to.

Keep him. Next year we'll have the donuts. Having a Bear/Camby combo with Donuts at PF is championship caliber.

Camby is twice the player Dally is. We need to trade Dally in a package for value so we don't have to swallow his $1.5 mill buy out.

I like Dalembert but we don't need 2 centers that are not part of our future. Morey says it may be years before we compete for a championship and this is the first year of rebuilding while winning philosophy. Why keep fringe assets that only help you get a lousier lottery pick. Perhaps the Rockets see Dally as a trade asset down the line but we need to rebuild now. And not with a lot of players who will never help us compete for a championship.

Camby over Dali, keep 'em both if we don't draft a C or make a trade that needs the cap.

How does the timing look for trades before the July date?

If we're looking to win, I think we have to sign Dalembert. Gives us a clear advantage at one position night in, night out. I love the combo.

It depends... if no significant moves are made and it looks like we may slip to the 11th or 12th pick, we'll need him to get back on course for 14.

...or we could trade him for Hayes, save a million or so.....and go to the playoffs.
