    I love Bill Simmons,

    but in every other sport the only "Asterisk" years are strike years. What he is doing is saying '99 and MJ but deflecting the argument to say many other years. All those other years are even more BS than 94 and 95...besides,... Pat and Patrick were not going to lose to MJ again and Shaq beat him. We don't even need to discuss Hakeem...Chicago was not going to the finals either year, especially since he wasn't into it head wise. Like even a superhuman could win 8 titles in a row....not going to happen.

    and what is with the "melee" asterisk...weird.

    oh, and based on his injuries and refs criteria, why shouldn't Dallas get an asterisk for "Lebron Choking" lol

    No such thing as an "asterisk" next to CHAMPIONSHIPS. Dude's bitter the C's couldn't get it done.

    Still up in the rafters for him to look at. We beat Shaqs butt. Jordan lost to Shaq and nothing can change that. Not even one mans asterisk. It was done.

    I bet he was a New york fan. Remember how New York fans try to act like this wouldnt have counted? I bet they wanted to win that Championship that wouldnt have counted because they never could beat the Bulls. While the Rockets always could. So it definitely would have been a asterisk if the Knicks would have won.

    I love Bill Simmons' work and I'm not even that upset that he feels this way. It's just one of those things that people are always going to believe, no matter what.

    People can say what they want. No way anyone would be saying this if the Knicks or Magic would have won. Why? East coast bias and Shaq.

    Truth is, scoreboard. They can NEVER take that away, no matter how hard they try.

    so annoying. we were in the finals in both years regardless, and mj was in the league in 95.

    i've never understood why these same idiots don't include the next few years after the bulls' 2nd 3peat and mj's 2nd retirement as "asterisk years" as well. i'm guessing they don't understand why they don't either.

    How about an asterisk next to every championship from 1987 onward. We know without the Ralph Sampson injury, several of those would have been coming to Houston.

    Every year should have an asterisk next to it!
