It'll take more than K Mart. I'd like a 3 way where we give up Kyle, K Mart and our 2 picks to bring Pek to Houston. He'd be really nice to have next to Montie.

Wolves won't give up Derrick Williams. He is part of their core with Love and Rubio. But how about Wesley Johnson? Expendable with Williams and if they trade for Kevin Martin...

Pekovic+Wesley Johnson+B. Miller(salary match purpose only) for Kevin Martin

I actually think Derrick Williams will be gone this summer. Adelman and David Kahn had a post-season press conference yesterday and identified only Love and Rubio as franchise "cornerstones."

Williams just doesn't fit over there as a PF stuck behind one of the best PF's in the league. So using him to upgrade their abysmal wing situation is probably what they see as the best course of action.

They can probably get something better than Martin though since Williams still has a lot of perceived value as the recent #2 pick. Which is fine by me, I'm not very high on him as a prospect anyway. I prefer D-Mo an oversized PF prospect much more than having another undersized one like Williams.

Wow, more people undervaluing our players! You would give up ALL of those solid players (two of them) and mid level draft picks in a deep draft all for one solid center? So...basically, four players for one player. Not even a superstar player. I see. No offense, but someday, you are going to get scammed by thief. In addition, even if we went with this philosophy of trading a huge number of our good players for one good players, we would end up with....5 or 7 players on our team!!! I don't know what to say, but I see messed up trade ideas on here that undervalue our own players all the time. Ticks me off.

Ahhhhh, that feels much better. I'm already over it. I only get sports "ticked off", not for real ticked off. I just don't think we should undervalue our players and sell them wholesale. Who knows, you may be right and I may be wrong. Having 5 or 7 average players on the team may be the way to go opposed to 14 or 15. Could be the key to a championship.

That's crazy. I've never known Morey to get down on his knees as this proposal suggest.

It gets us out of purgatory for now. K Mart doesn't have a ton of value, and mid round picks aren't too valuable either. The 3rd team would prolly send us something worthwhile as well. Pek is a nice young C that's strong down low, and to pair him with a slim PF like Montie would be nice as they could grow together. Wasn't trying to knock any of our guys.

I think he's not far off. Houston doesn't have anything Minnesota would actually want. Martin has fallen off and they've got every other position covered with better players the Rockets could offer. On the other hand, Pek is a 20/10 beast whose production would be very hard to substitute. They've got themselves a potential top 5 center, why let him go now, when he's slowly becoming everything they envisioned him to be?

They've got no initiative to trade with the Rockets, so it would have to be a three way deal, and even then it would probably take a borderline star to get Pek. They've got a solid, young foundation to build around and are looking to consolidate their assets not disperse them into lesser players.

While I agree with most of this I still don't think a trade of Martin and Lowry plus picks is a good move. Anything beyond just the players alone is way too much imo.

Yeah, I think that too. These two teams just aren't good trade partners, hard to think of a scenario that would make sense for both.

Come on Rivers, you know that Donatas and Pekovic are completely different types of players. Donatas is a PF that stretches the floor and Pekovic is a bruiser down low. I hope you weren't thinking we'd trade Donatas for him either.

What do you not get? I understand if it's a bad trade for somebody but I think this benefits all teams involved.
