That's what I'm saying. You also have to take into account Miller, Battier, Jones, Chalmers, who all are in the elite group of NBA shooters. They are deadly when set up in the corner.

I don't see why jopat is saying all this, it's just not true.

I said plays. It is the stupidest play in basketball for Lebron to pass to the corner when he is in the paint. But pardon me, I am wrong. It is the 3rd stupidest play in basketball.

The stupidest play in basketball is Lebron passing out to a player standing just inside the 3 point line when he is in the paint.

The 2nd stupidest play is when lebron passes to the 3-point line around the arc when he is in the paint.

The 3rd stupidest play is when Lebron passes to the corner when he is in the paint.

Okay you're ignoring that he's surrounded by some of the best shooters in the league and that the corner three is the most efficient shot in basketball along with the low post shot.

You're just hating LeBron or think he can draw a foul or finish against 3-4 defenders without a problem it seems, so I'm done with this as no one can convice you that your point is dead wrong.

I'm not ignoring anything. You are ignoring the reality of what I am saying.

I'm all up for getting on his grill and getting a lighthearted joke out of it when he bombs a 4th quarter , but this .......what?

Yeah I get the argument that he's LeBron and a freak, but come on, where was all of this a couple of years ago?
And plus if he had done the opposite and get like a charge or something....ppl would still be hatin on him.

I don't hate Lebron. However, I think his bball iq is highly overrated. And this is part of the proof. And I believe one of the main reasons he hasn't won a ring.....yet.

If Lebron is truly a student of the game and truly unselfish and truly the go-to guy.....then he should know that passing out when he is in the paint is a stupid play.

Now, maybe that changes in about 6-8 years when he is in his mid-30's and he has run up his bball odometer ....but not right now. Right now passing out when he is in the paint is the stupidest play he can make.

The reality is that he's setting up some of the best shooters in the NBA for the 2nd most efficient shot in basketball, while driving and trying to finish could easily result in a charge, block, him missing or getting hurt. You think trying to pull off a shot vs. multiple defenders is a good play?

Great, you obviously never played organzied basketball or your coach was brain dead.

The reality is they shoot 36% from 3. You want to up that to 40% because it's in the corner...or 45% because it's in the corner, then go ahead. IT IS STILL THE STUPIDEST PLAY HE CAN MAKE WHEN HE IS IN THE PAINT!

We can all agree to disagree. However, taking a shot at LeBron's bball IQ when the Heat are up 30, predominantly as a result of LeBron's play is when you know people are nit-picking because there really isn't anything else to hate on at the moment.

Not nitpicking on Lebron. He was sensational in this game. My comment is not about trying to nitpick him. He played great today. He played great today. He played great today. Get it?

My comment is about stupidest plays. For a player of his talent level, size, and athleticism to be passing out when he is in the paint is stupid. Let me say it again, it is totally stupid. And I'm blaming his coach as well. Spolstra has done a poor job of emphasizing this to Lebron. Because he does this ALL THE TIME! It's just not a one-game thing here. It's a constant pattern that extends throughtout his whole career!

You want to know when it matters??? When the Cavs are playing the Lakers. When the Heat are playing the Mavs. For the RING!

With Rose going down today, I don't see anybody beating this Heat team until the Finals. And then I fully expect that either San Antonio or the Lakers will beat them. Not just for this reason. There are several reasons, one of them being that the Heat do not play back-to-the-basket post-up basketball. But this is one of the reasons. Lebron does not play smart when he needs to play smart the most.

Anybody can take a shot at Lebron's IQ when the Heat lose in the Finals. And they all do. I take shots at players and coaches and GMs when I see things, not after the fact.

The problem with this argument is the defense almost always collapses on LeBron when he cuts into the paint, so often times he has the attention of 2-3 defenders, which means, SOMEBODY is open. I'd rather have the guy that is wide open taking a shot then the guy that is being contested by 2 or 3 defenders. I'm sure if LeBron fully believed that he could finish the play, then he would finish the play, but honestly I would trust LeBron to make the right decision 9 times out of 10. Can't win them all right?

So getting other players involved with open shots is a bad play?

    Open corner shots?

Getting a shooter a open corner 3 is a bad play??

    Never said that.

What I said was when Lebron passes out when he is in the paint is the stupidest play in the NBA.

Just because shot percentage is statistically higher in the paint does not mean that its always guaranteed to be the better shot...
Good god this is the worst thread in the history of Clutchfans.
