Had no idea who Martin was until I watched his highlights. He's the guy who made that catch in the Wisconsin vs. Mich. St. game where he went Baryshnikov to stick his toe down when his body was a yard out of bounds. Ruled a catch, but overturned on replay. Still an incredible almost catch - probably best in 2011 that didn't count. Check it out about the 7:10 mark. http://youtu.be/lQWaPMly14E
lol. JJ Watt on Twitter : Big Ten Takeover. Welcome to the Texans @Merci380 @JrodVCrick @DPo8 @KeshawnMartin82 #LetsWork
ESPN likes what the Texans are doing. Class of the division. McShay concerned about the RT spot. "Maybe Butler can be solid but I'm not sold". Kiper concerned about backup TE(losing Dreessen to Denver).
they say crick can possibly play both DT/DE, he has that flexibility. I can see him being a DT on 3rd and long
This draft looks great. A giant tight end would've been nice, but other than that, we got everything we needed. Mario's replacement? Check. Somebody that will allow us to cut Walter when his pay goes up? Check. Depth for the OL? Check. Depth for the DL? Check. A decent slot/returner? Check. Now just nab a kicker and a 3rd string QB and call it a day.
If this draft class supplants starters, I don't think it happens until next year. I look at everyone as rotation guys in 2012, hopefully contributing ones. Wade's system calls for the front 7 exploding every down - rotating guys through helps them keep up that intensity for 4...we saw drop offs late in several games. Happens to every D, but Wade's system falls apart if the attacking 5 wear down. Posey might be (might be) Walter's eventual successor. Martin should help us forget all about Jones quickly. I can't wait to see him streak on the opposite sideline from Andre. And they've eased my anxiety about the OL. Reasonable depth at each spot. TE, FB, and maybe ILB and CB are the only positions left they should be thinking much about now.
I just watched that too! That play and the ensuing punt return were amazing! I REALLY like this pick. He looks like a dangerous game changer that we can stick in the slot. Imagine running a bubble screen with AJ and Walters blocking for him.
Isn't he kind of a high cap hit? My guess is that no team will give a draft pick for him because they won't want to take on his salary. They will wait for us to cut him in camp, and then sign him cheap.
Only in our dreams. Jacoby will be released unless some team decides to give us a 7th rounder for him.
Would love to see the Texans trade up to get ILB Vontaze Burfict, or have him fall to the Texans next round.
