Caldwell was the backup center IIRC, so this gives us some options depending on who wins out for RG during camp.
Now I'm hopin we take a flier on Marvin Jones out of Cal or of course Streeter. Please Texans just do something we can ALL agree with!
Feeling better about the OL depth. If Newton really is coming around, this may give us 3 reasonable backups. How many kickers are off the board? There's no rush. There will be plenty undrafted.
BTW, I am not a type of person that gets mad rather easily, but don't you guys get tired when people from your school or fan of your college team acts like a homer for the team? I mean it's freaking annoying. I'm in a middle with an argument with this supposed "interim for UH athletics" and he keeps on saying that Sammy Brown outplayed Vinny Curry, and I keep telling him Curry is a better prospect than him and he getting mad at me. One thing this draft tells us for sure is that Rashad Butler is the man at RT and Derek Newton is the swing tackle. Thought we would have addressed that by now. We have 4 picks left -- QB, TE, WR (return man), K in no particular order?
I don't think we were gonna take a DT anyway. I think Wade is set with Cody and Earl Mitchell at DT. I don't think they want to carry 3 DTs when Antonio or JJ can also slide inside in this defense.
I think there's a chance Brooks is going to be moved to tackle, but either way, I'm not sure why everyone was convinced the Texans wanted to draft a tackle. They've been clear they like Butler.
Agreed, but it's such an important position that I thought they'd bring in competition. I guess it says more about Newton than anything, that they trust him as the next man up if Brown or Butler goes down.
