Winning the flip and getting 16 instead of 18 is karma for not tanking. All of you pro-tankers should shut up for one month.

Yeah, if he hadn't had those 4 points against us the last time we played them, the Rockets would have won 101-102.

Are you related to him or something?

Anything is possible, plus Howard if true wants to be traded as soon as the Magic are out of the playoffs. Draft picks + Lowry + Martin + Patterson for Howard and Turkoglu is what might get it done. I can't wait for Draft night.

If frackken Mike Woodson doesn't take over as coach and Amare and Lin stay healthy maybe the Knicks explode...it sure was looking that way :(

    No, they do not.

As long as the trade was not CONSUMMATED until right after the Rockets make their selection on behalf of the other team (like with the Battier-Gay trade), it won't count as a future draft without a pick.

The Nets obligation will keep the Rockets from trading both picks (without getting a 2012 or unprotected 2013 pick) until after the #14 pick is made by the Rockets.

It will also keep the Rockets from being able to trade their own pick until 2015 at the earliest. But that's a story for another time.

Clutchfans jumps in euphoria after discovering their draft pick has leapfrogged a mammoth 2 picks from 18 to a 16, when they were originally expecting a top 5 pick and always knew it was in the teens.

Pointless observation: the 16th pick just "look" a lot better than the 18th pick. 16th pick screams middle-of-the-draft. 18th pick screams bottom-half of the draft.

Actual thoughts: It seems that the 2nd tier prospects in this draft tend to teeter out in the late-teens. So there may actually be a significant difference in terms of value for the pick. At pick 16 there is definitely still a guy available with high upside. This should help whether the Rockets want to trade up in the draft, or putting together a Dwight Howard package.

How bad would it be if the Suns won a top 3 pick?

Or we can trade our #14 and #16 for 5 second round picks! Imagine 5 Parsonses (plural for Parsons?)!!

Package both picks with whatever to move up to draft Beal. Then get a decent big man. Then we would have a direction.

Xperts say that last year's draft was deeper than expected. This year it might be similar.
