Whatever happened to shutting the eff up and waiting for your turn? Back in the days, you have to prove yourself before you get to even get to speak. Rookies were just rookies, and all they did was worked hard and hope they'd get a chance to play. Now all these rookies comes in and throw fit like they are ready and needs to be playing. Start crying like little babies and **** when they don't get a crack at the rotate. It's okay to feel like you are ready and anxious to play, but damn Come on son! Rookies these days, get drafted in the top 15 and think they are superstars already.. every little baby comes in and think they should be treated michael jordan or they will start pouting like a little kid or hold the damn team hostage once they get a little better. go rockets..
While I do not completely disagree with you, I would think that most lottery teams will draft a position of NEED, therefore leading the player drafted to think that they will fill a void for the team... Unless of course you are the Rockets and draft an asset. I do agree though, that MM needs to work hard and shut up
Not saying this is the only factor but with the way the media is EVERYWHERE, don't you think that has a lot to do with players' words getting dissected every single time they open their mouth? Back then you could say a lot and not be held publicly accountable.
True. A tweet saying "Heres a picture of me on a pony" somehow turns into "I'm obviously better than Kobe and Lebron I dont understand why I'm riding the bench."
AAU is a huge issue nowadays in the world of basketball. From before they are even able to drive an automobile they have some of the most savy/shady businessmen in the world trying to earn a piece of the pie of these young kids. They will make sure they mentally believe they are the next Lebron or Kobe, and treat them like that as well. Every single one of them will be pampered and treated like royalty every step of the way until they dont make it in the NBA and they suddenly owe tons of money back to their agents that have been loaning them money for years. So your dealing with alot of emotions in a young persons life. Pampering/Coddling at a young age to total and complete abandonment from the ones that used to treat them like royalty. Sprinkle in some financial woes and you have yourself a bonefied immature NBA headcase. I dont think Marcus Morris is there yet, and its unfair to label him as anything yet. He's honestly doesn't seem like that much of a headcase. The 3 years he had in college probably helped keep him more grounded, but the AAU psychological hangover is definitely there. Its much much worse with other players Ive seen.
I'd hardly call anything Morris did this year "throwing a fit"....The OP is closer to throwing a fit than anything Morris did.
I'm pretty sure any tweet saying "Here's a picture of me and my pony" screams "hay gais, i'm teh gheyz"
Twitter, bro. Twitter. That and lack of fundamentals, no tough veterans to put the rookies in line, huge salaries, and players just overall having more star power than they used to.
