Thats why i rather get into the playoffs...and get eliminated early...so that other stars can see we have the pieces, we just need the big piece...

    I hated the way...Gasoft...just was like...Not houston...
    Bosh...just said puff puff pass...
Heck even Marcin Gortat...ignored houston...I really dont get it...

We must change the culture...and bring back a sense of basketball attractiveness...

Didn't you miss something? Fate is against us.... or what else is the reason we seem not be capable of making the playoffs
Major changes have to happen.... Play all of your rookies, or sophomores....for all I care

They dont want to play for Rockets for some reasons. Number one, it's about money and Gorat want big money. Number two, Bosh want to play on chamionship caliber team so Bosh went to Miami. Gasol actually considers Houston but Memphis just matched the offer. So its not about city of Houston itself.

lol..other than that I just dont understand...what did houstonians do to piss off the basketball gods...or God himself... lol...Did moving from the Compaq center/summit doom the team?? We have to actively try signing a big name via free agency or via trade...

Gasol - did not want to leave LA, a championship contender

Bosh - If you were paying attention, was always going to Miami. That was an inside job all the way in order to once again...win a championship

Gortat - well its arguable that Gortat is star in the first place. He will be with the rest of the Rockets this offseason--sitting at home. Plus many believed he was overpaid and picking up his contract was not worth it

I remember when we first heard TMAC was coming to Houston...and especially when he got here...I dont know how many folks here actually went to that press conference..but that was such an awesome thing to go to...Another big name star like that is surely bound to get something like that... I remember TMAC's saying...man i have never seen something like this...

Pau Gasol actually said last minute he was willing to play for Rockets if Lakers still wanted to trade him. Pau Gasol first said he didnt want to play for Rockets because he believes he still can win champ with Lakers. Gasol doesnt think Rockets can win champ with this roster. But maybe we could get him this offseason if Lakers failed to win championship this year.

    Just for fun..
But IMHO I think the management does not care enough to make major changes... They are tinkering and tweaking but it aint good enough product
Heck... Fans put up with all the WHAT IF Yao and Tmac were healthy... duh?
Well get a good Plan B or C! We were just not big winners in the last decade. And they are idiots to think this team can compete among the big boys anytime soon.

I remember very well that day because I was so excited to hear T-Mac coming to Houston. T-Mac was very special and gifted player that year. I have always loved the way he played with the ball when he was with Magic so I was really excited on that day. He's the basketball killer that year.

well as fans...there has to be something we can do...we really want a star/ as an organization we really need the star...its really all this team is missing to be relevant again...

I felt we really have treated our stars with a lot of respect IMO...The Rockets mgmt have always catered to its stars...Yao, TMAC, Steve, etc...

Thats why i really am driving the pitch to get Dwight...its really about getting our city excited again...The 90s were so fun for Rockets fans...but its been more than 20+ years since we have gotten that far...

Seems that our best bet to matter as a big time city will have to do with the Texans being more consistent and perennial contenders...then maybe it may help our other two franchises...maybe...

I really feel the Rockets have tried so hard to repair the failures with the Yao and TMAC experiment...but their failures may have left a bad stain...

It takes stars to attract stars. What team has ever landed a top player while not already having a star?

The Knicks...Amare...made the Knicks relevant...They too had a bad lull...for a good part of the 2000 decade...and now their back...

NY LA have spotlight. Amare wanted to get more shoe deals before he has his season ending knee injury. I don't even consider him a star, just a glorified flashy Scola.

It's not the city though. Almost any player in the NFL would kill to play for the Texans. Manning wanted to come here, VY is begging to come here.

We just dont have a superstar on current roster. It takes time. I hope Rockets finally can sign a superstar this offseason. I dont think they may left a bad stain after what they have done so much.

-13 points in 33 seconds all by T-Mac in closing game (that must be some Rockets record)
    -22 winning streaks
-Our best dunk so far in Rockets history- McGrady on Bradley.
-Have many Chinese Rockets fan and got more connection with them thanks to Yao.
    - McGrady's foundation especially Darfur program and Houston communities.
-They helped Rockets win 50 games in a season for most of their careers with Houston and make playoff.

No, the city itself does not have a bad rep. But the organization and their poor pr skills have had a detrimental effect on the rep that the Rockets have amongst players. Everybody knows that it's a business and that players are expendable assets, but they don't need to constantly hear that all the time. Morey and Les's lowballing haven't helped their reputation either. The organization is just not viewed as being player friendly and stable. Winning would help these perceptions, but mediocrity only exacerbates them.
