I don't think he should be fired, however I do think this is a crucial year! His problem is, he try to undervalue players too often. I think when the trade for Tyson Chandler was on the table with Charlotte, he should have given up a draft pick or player to sweeten the deal. Dallas basically gave up cap space.

Although, you can not win all deals (trades), I think he realize that now, due to what he offered the Lakers for Gasol. I think this year, he needs to target moving up in the draft, moving Scola and Martin, and finding a legit inside threat who can score inside and block shots. Can you say AL JEFFERSON!!!

    Center Jefferson/Camby/Draft pick (Tyler)
    Power Forward Patterson/Donotas
    Small Forward Parsons/Morris/Bud
Two Guard Lee/Draft Pick (PJ lll)
    Point Guard Dragic/Lowry

This is the third year that I've been waiting for him being fired.

For all of you who want to wait and see, it would be another disappointed and wasted year.

Once you fail with 3 coaches, then you have to change the GM

Is it ironic or moronic that people want to rebuild over 5 years but can't stand even this 1 year of rebuilding?

This forum has become so dumb lol.

This was a year of rebuilding? Who did the Rockets develop? I was unaware that they finally made a decision on what direction they want to go in.

Why does everyone say Morey's just "following orders" and that he'd be doing things differently if it weren't for Alexander? Where does this idea come from? Did Alexander or Morey say something to this effect? Maybe I missed something.

The team has been rebuilding. But they haven't managed to turn over the young talent they've been collecting for a top-tier talent. In that sense, Morey has failed so far. Under the circumstances, I'm willing to give him this offseason to make it happen before I give up on him.

Yeah I think its time to fire him. He is talking like he will continue his course of micromanaging for this year. No need to see him draft at 14th this year and take us to the 8th seed of the playoffs next year and call that slight improvement in role players progress any longer.

    FIRE HIM!

He said the ROCKETS don't believe in rebuilding/tanking. Firing him won't "solve" anything.

It will. It will end Moreys career in Houston and the Rockets most definitely take a different direction. Maybe even one you like.

How so? If the HOUSTON ROCKETS don't believe in tanking or rebuilding, what makes you think another GM will come in and get it done?

Again, he has this year, and IMO, he leaves on his own after getting frustrated with Les....if he is unable to get a big deal done.

Different strategy. Going about things differently is underrated. The same thing that never works is overrated in Houstons sports fanbase. The entire Houston sports scene history its overrated to do things the exact same way for decades with no results.

This is speculation.... but a sane person would not do this for a Les team.

I understand you're tired of this mess, and believe me, we all are. I also understand that you don't believe in Morey or his methods, but I think what he said in that article posted this morning was just the same ol' PR spin. Of course he's gonna try to swing for the fences this year, and if he can't get it done, maybe he should walk. I am a huge Morey supporter, but it's starting to seem like this situation will not work for him. Maybe another team will give him full reign to do what he wants, and he'll prove himself then. Until then, we're stuck, and it sucks.

Rick Smith did a great job under pressure by the way. Texans got it right. How? Going after and signing Wade Phillips, Joseph, Manning, drafting JJ Watt, Brooks Reed. Huge sweeping changes. Big moves. They made harsh decision with who they could let go in Demeco and Mario for these changes. It will work out in the long run.

Ok kids, lets sit back and answer a couple of questions. I know logic and common sense are two daunting ideas to most of you, but this really won't hurt any of your precious little heads for too long.

Ok, easy one first, im sure most of you can get his. Who is the owner of the rockets? Yeah, les Alexander, you got it. Cookies for the r****ds.

Ok, number 2. Who does Daryl Morey work for and have to listen to, because, you know, he's his boss?? Right again, les Alexander.

That wasn't too hard was it. The rockets can't and won't tank because les doesn't want to. The guy that owns the team. The billionaire. So can we get over that, it's ridiculous that some of you haven't figured that out yet. The rockets won't tank unless he decided to.

Daryl isn't perfect, but he sure as **** isn't a bad gm. He was stuck with the contracts of two broken ****ing players, has now assembled a decent team, and can't, and probably won't land superstar unless some other gm/owner is dumb/desperate. Because those superstars sure as **** aren't going to willingly sign here without someone else ( like a certain 7'6 superstar center ) to play with. Houston is the fat chick with personality of the NBA. Desperate for a superstar, but none want anything to do with them.

I know trades are cake in 2k....whatever. **** that, just because a team has a player you desperately want doesn't mean they are going to hand that player over for Patrick Patterson and a bag of ****ing twinkies.

Sure they would, the Rox job could be viewed as a stepping stone for Morey to a better GM job.

i understand not being happy with the bottom line, but have some perspective - morey is as good as it gets.

lebron signing with miami changed everything. don't be fooled - were a few years away from contending, at best.

    our time is coming.

Out of curiosity, if we did fire Morey, who do you guys think would be a better alternative? Oh right, there aren't that many...(See Kevin McHale for Rick Adelman). Be grateful for what you have before its gone...
