Talking to the t wolves beat writer

JerryZgoda: @megastahr WHo's going to do a sign and trade for michael beasley? If Martin happens, it will be by the draft

    https://twitter.com/#!/JerryZgoda

We apparently almost dealt martin to twolves at the dead line but the wolves thought they had crawford cheaper.... I think now that they have Jazz pick at no 15... we could have them as a part of a 3 team deal where

    Martin goes to twolves
their first rounder goes to ???

Or maybe we can find a way to use martin to pry away pekovic

I see no scenario involving Houston where the Wolves trade that 20/10 monstrosity that is Nikola Peković. He's proven to be an amazing player and future top 5 center, IMO.

Yah prob what rockets were holding out for ... but the best we get now is prob the 15th pick in this years draft and cap room.

But he is not the typical Adelman big man. So maybe they are willing to give him up.

According to the beat writer of the wolves...were prob only going to get that 1st rounder...maybe another small asset.

    @JerryZgoda:
@megastahr WHo's going to do a sign and trade for michael beasley? If Martin happens, it will be by the draft

megastahr: @JerryZgoda lol...ok nvm about Beasley... what do you guess wolves would offer cap relief and their first rounder?

@JerryZgoda: @megastahr not sure, as little as they possibly can because they know rockets want to dump martin and salary so they can make other moves

What with capholds and whatnot, I'm not sure what the Rockets and the Twolves would attempt. Who would they trade? Who would we take? Can we find a way to save some dough-re-mi?

I wouldn't mind cap room and that #15 pick, but is it even do-able?

Is it allowed to trade for Brad Miller and Martell Webster, given that their contracts are team options (they can be waived before July 1st and receive only a small portion of the last year [2012-13] of their contracts)? There's probably a rule prohibiting this.

Supposedly we were interested in Michael Snoop Dogg Beasley. Can score points but can't defend. Nothing against him, but don't see how we really need him (Parsons, Bud, Morris). Maybe a 3rd team out there would need him more than us?

And yet the Twolves have moves of their own they could make. Randolph? Beasley?

I think that they're still thanking to gods that they got him at 31 and weren't stupid enough to trade him before he established himself. He's exactly what they were looking for and failed to get in Miličić.

A center like that is a rarity in today's NBA, if you have one, you cling on to him, unless somebody offers you something ridiculous. Martin's not it. I wouldn't even trade him for Lowry if I'm the Wolves. They're a young and pretty much set team, that only needs time to grow together. They'll have no problems getting that complementary piece or two, that the're lacking, in free agency, otherwise they're set. Barring serious injury they'll be contending very soon.

Keep in mind Pekovic is an unrestricted free agent after this upcoming season.

I don't have a problem with the non tanking, but I do have a problem with the limited ceiling of the younger players. Its one thing to make a hard and fanetic push for 8th and its another to fail and don't see an all star type as a young guys. Utah and denver both pushed forward with a mix of vets and young guys, but their vets and young guys are better and have a higher ceiling than the rockets players. I mean, utah can get a lot more for jefferson or milsap than any player on the rockets roster. Denver traded a guys houston was drolling over for mcgee and cap flexibility down the road. The rockets traded all the 09 picks when 2 (hill and williams) have more upside than probably any rocket young player right now. I will say, donuts was the guy I was looking forward too in last yrs draft. They need to clear room and continue to build when he gets here. He has the highest upside of any rockets player and will be the key to getting off this hampster wheel.

Personally, I dont blame Les for trying what he did. Who as an owner would readily accept making a perpetual mediocre team into a terrible team for an unknown number of years?

I know all the tank theories and there benefits, so lets not regurgitate them once again.

Its quite possible Les is at a turning point though. Most people do what they want to do first, sometimes even when that has strong arguments against it. Some people never seem to realize what they want to do wont work. Others come to the realization quickly, others still, more slowly.

This summer will bear out which is the case.

Thats a pretty wild A#$ trade but I do like WAS as a trade target. If they get the #1 pick in the lottery I think a deal is less likely, but still a good target either way.

I think the Rockets can give WAS the ability to put a competitive team around John Wall finally. You move Lewis/ and just that one draft pick to Houston and you can get basically the Rockets starting lineup to surround John Wall with. You name it, you want Dalembert/Parsons/Scola/Martin.... they are yours. You name it. Done.

I think this would be a hard move for WAS to turn down unless they get the #1 pick. In that case, I dont think they would give up Davis.

I think that trade for howard is more likely...and we dont have to snt for gordon...if we want him just over pay for him. Hornets are rebuilding they are not going to handicap the team by overpaying for a hopeful star coming off injury.

Hmm, I didn't know he was coming off the books so soon. But I think they'll be able to retain him. He likes it there, the team will be competitive and they'll have enough money to bring him back.

Isn't there a time restriction for trading players you got via sing and trade?
