how am I rambling? you can't compare old school work pale type guys like sampson and moses malone to this train wreck we call modern urban society with no respect for adults and an idea that thug life is the life to live.....really I guarantee you none of those old guys like cousy, russell bail on any team today.....only egomaniacs do.....when was the last big time foreign player to bail on a team for more money or fame.....hmmm Yao??? Dirk???? Nash was so damn respectful to the suns this year and didn't demand a trade.....sorry it's true. That's why the Raptors know to take Bargnani when Aldridge is available bc they know Bargnani wont bounce the minute he gets a chance like Vince and Tracy.....Thats thy the raptors take valanciunus last year even though they needed help then. Yes he was a beast and will be next year but tell me they didn't need help ASAP....foreigners have a different culture and set of values that is all....both of our recent superstars WERE foreigners YAO and DREAM and yes other stars came in support of them not on their own sorry facts are facts....

Dream wanted to leave the Rockets until Charlie Thomas decided to give him the big contract.

I guess foreigners are greedy, but keep rambling on your urban thug life theory.

    http://www.chron.com/CDA/archives/a...juwon-converse-rockets-owner-center-disc.html
Olajuwon stressed that the conversation produced no solution to the ongoing problems between him and the team. He wants to have his contract modified to bring his salary up to the $5 million-per-year level enjoyed by Patrick Ewing of the New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs center David Robinson.

"What I am asking is for my market value," Olajuwon said. "I don't want one more penny than what I am worth on the market. Just the way Charlie is not asking for more money in selling the team than he thinks it is worth.

"I understand Charlie's position, and I think he understands mine now. I said back in the spring that I would prefer to be traded. Charlie told me that they tried all summer to accommodate me with a trade. But they couldn't.

San antonio got lucky as hell to get duncan him and durant are 2 awesome people off the court, they don't care about all that attention like Wade and Bron.....when was the last time you saw Tim D dance like an idiot at the all star game? PS San antonio is built around 2 foreign studs as well in Parker and Ginobili and they keep bringing more in like Splitter bc they know that's the only way you're gonna keep studs in a small market is by going foreign.......Dallas is a big market but again Dirk! foreign stud decides to not bail to go to a bigger market......are you seeing a trend

and that problem with dream wasnt silly, he wanted his fair value, we dont have that issue today with MAX deals. Look the athletes of the 90s and 80s don't exist today Im sorry if you think young black america is raised the same way today and young black america of the 60s and 70s you are crazy. Im not being racist but it's just a fact these guys upbringing and their exposure to loyalty is a factor in how they treat their cities. Im sorry you don't know the meaning of hard work and loyalty if you bail on your hometown for the lure of chasing down championships in another city with 2 other superstars....I dont care how many titles bron wins he will never have built something from the ground up like MJ or Dream and that's something lots of these youths are not understanding is the pride in building a title contender not collaboration with some buddies to play together thats like 3 varsity bball studs in high school teaming up to play in the school tourney vs the joe schmo's its no fun when you it

    Steve Francis loves Houston.

There is urban culture in Houston. Are you from Houston? You realize there's even a Houston hip hop scene. Houston is really urban.

There could be many other reasons , aka, moves by the management and owner, that could contribute to not having a star, but it's not because of THUG LIFE.

Look you guys can rant and rave and call me stupid it doesnt matter tell me why NOBODY has come here on their own unless we had a star in place in recent years? the last 4 years with no Yao we havent been able to land anyone? We had 2 BIG time foreign studs who we drafted and decided to stay bc loyalty was their thing and we landed many stars around them. Would Barkley,Tmac, and Pippen come here for any other reason on their own? They wanted titles and we offered that to them. Right now unless we draft some foreign stud or build a contender withing 3-4 years of drafting a high lotto pick that guy is bolting for bigger markets bc the life is just better. The money will be similar from the NBA but off court endorsements, the nightlife, the women it's just better in all these place. Sorry but LA with a bunch of hotties on saturday night vs ROAK and some pretty mediocre women is not even a competition.....sorry RoAK is the ebst we've got and it is about a 4 in terms of Miami nightlife....Posh,Yolo,LIV....best nightclubs on earth.....like I said with you guys if you could have the same job and pay in miami or houston where would you go? I don't fault the guys, Im just a realist and were not landing any big stud through FA and am happy morey keeps us competitive knowing the task at hand

Oh my bad, it's because of the clubs.

I guess Kevin Durant resigned with OKC cause he likes to two step instead of catching the Tiesto show on South Beach.

Houston has douchey clubs, have you been down Washington?

why do stars go to big markets? bc life in cleveland is so much fun right? It's not jsut the clubs, its the lifestyle, the restaurants, the clubs everything it's just a blast. i spent 4 years in LA when I was in middle school and I remember my parents always taking me out on weekends and there was just so much to do it was incredible, now Im in houston and want to slit my wrists sometimes when I think of my options for fun

    LOL.
What do you want? to be Hank Moody?

Look, I'm from Houston and I don't think it's the greatest city on the planet either, but Houston, the city, is not the reason why we haven't landed a top tier player.
In fact, LOTS of NBA/Athletes live in Houston. the real estate and tax situation is so much better than other cities.

Explain the Knicks pre Melo, that team sucked and it's the most well known city on the planet.
