The million dollar question is, how much re-evaluating is Les going to do? Is he going to accept that his no-rebuild stance is getting the team nowhere?

Two years in a row, no less. We had swap rights last season.

Trade Martin. Fire McHale. Everyone is happy.

I thought that was an interesting thing to say. He, like many posters here, seems to think that he and Dragic cannot co-exist on the same roster.

I think it was a worthy gamble. We gave up nothing.

Imagine if the Knicks didn't sign Amar'e? I doubt Melo wants to go there then. They'd be running a team of Raymond Felton, Jared Jeffries, Wilson Chandler, Gallinari, and Mozgov. That's at least a mid lotto pick right there.

it's not that! Dragic wants to be the starter, he wants to have the keys to run the offense on a team. Will Lowry be willing to take a backseat and come off the bench?

I think Lowry has no choice in this case. He either has to accept a backup role or wait a trade when there is a chance to be a starter. He could ask to be traded sooner if he is really mad or the rockets could trade him for a pick during this draft.

I wonder how Lowry would do in Portland or Sacramento?

I think he will do well in either teams. He has shown his ability as a starter, the problem here is that Dragic is a free agent, the rockets have to offer him for a start job, or he is going to be a starter in Portland or other teams. I prefer to keep both in this year.

I hate using this word, but either team has assets that could help us. Pretty good guess Morey will be contacting those teams for a possible Lowry trade.

Well, that gives better hope to the Rockets' future in theory. Sure, blowing up doesn't mean Boston like success, but at least gives hope. If Morey can't do better than the cats in a much bigger market, then he should be sacked.

I doubt Dragic re-signs if Lowry is still here, whether Lowry is cool with being a back-up or not (and I'm pretty sure he wouldn't be cool with it). Not with teams like Portland out there that can offer money and a starter's job.

If we were to trade Lowry, our best time to do it would be at the draft. But, we'd have to do it with no guarantee that we could re-sign Dragic at a reasonable price. I can easily see a scenario in which we open next season without either of them.

Why should they give up players for Lowry when they can sign Dragic without giving up any talent?

Unfortunately, they can't... Both of these guys want the keys to the car.. Unfortunately a lot of people on the board think that this is a video game and it will work..

Morey and Les have to figure out which direction they are going to go..

Doesn't sound like end of the year handshake meeting was very pleasant. Im glad that Les didnt take the salemen approach and give us the same ol song and dance PR spin. Its good that he's pissed at the results of this season and more than anything the endless amount of sulking little babies on this current roster like Martin.

I think Les finally realizes that they are failing at their goals, and its a hard pill to swallow. I dont expect the organization to "stay the course" much longer if at all. Its been a rough couple seasons for Rockets fans, and the attendance & TV viewing #'s speak for themselves. No way that doesn't get Les' attention.

Its obvious now that Les & Rockets goal's are going to shift to Grooming young Stars now more than getting a Superstar ASAP. If a star player comes available then yes, of course... pounce, but until that day comes, you need to build something here. I think they realize that has to happen sooner rather than later.

This offseason means so much...If we can pull off the big pipe dream trade and re-sign our guys I think we become an instant contender

    Dragic
    Lee
    Parsons
    Scola/Motie
    Howard

That is a top team in the West and could match up against anyone

Well someone that actually gets it. Hopefully Les and DM will take this into consideration...all we can do for now is hope DMo game translates well in the NBA and continue to draft smart. :(

God! They stink on ice! But it's far easier to take a franchise and run it into the ground that it is to take a franchise that's been stuck in the mud and turn things around. Unfortunately, there is NO evidence that the Rockets have the personnel in place to reverse their fortunes of the past 15 years. Les is as clueless as ever, McHale is still a dynamite after-dinner speaker while Morey is still the smartest guy in room (when he's the only guy in the room). Sad to say but all signs point to the Rockets continuing on their road to nowhere.

No, tankers would lead you to believe that good management can work wonders with a high draft pick in a good draft, so it's pointless to compare us to other situations that didn't involve a good draft or someone good in management making the picks. If it's one thing I trust Morey in, it's drafting.
