Hahaha I'm glad Alexander is upset, he's got himself to blame, if only he went along with tanking we would've had a chance at high pick (1-5). Maybe he will get so angry, he will get high blood pressure and is advised to sell the team because it will eventually kill him :p

I think both guys will get their wish unless Lowry is highly coveted and Dragic really wants to stay or the team decides to completely blow it up a la Bobcats.

you're a total idiot...to wish that someone would get sick...its bc he has the money...to invest that he owns the Rockets...its up to him to decide who to spend it on...I wouldnt spend cash on a team that wont win a title...if your team doesnt contend...I would expect my GM to make sure that you dont spend over the cap..None of the players we have have the "it" factor to a championship...

For a long ass time... But Tankers will lead you to believe otherwise by pointing at the tru exceptions to the rule in Chicago and OKC

I think two years, they traded Gerald Wallace last year and Stephen Jackson this past offseason. They weren't very good prior to that Wallace-Jackson team, but that's because they were a brand new team.

What's killed the Bobcats is that Robert Johnson was far more concerned about their budget and margin than he was running a basketball team. They were a literal vanity project for him (who else has named a team after themselves?), and he choked them with his shoestring budget and bottom tier front office.

Then you follow that up with Michael Jordan, who's been nearly as cheap and just as incompetent.

Okafor wasn't a horrible pick with Dwight gone, but they made a huge mistake thinking he was more than a defensive specialist.

Ray Felton and Sean May in 2005 tells you everything about how they were running that team. They took two lottery picks and decided to court the local UNC fans instead of focusing on who would help the team the most. They could have had Bynum or Frye shift Oak to his natural position at the 4 and Danny Granger solving their scoring issue. But the marketing and sales department was running the war room.

Then Jordan came in to follow up his Kwame Brown legacy with Adam Morrison. If the Bobcats had a scouting department, they would have been tipped off that Morrison could not have been a more obvious bust. They could have had the most NBA ready guy in the draft (Roy). Neither of these things were secrets.

...it wasn't about whether or not tanking "works" - it's about inept management getting in its own way.

That's an intelligent thing to do, trying to use the Bobcats as an example for us supporting tanking. Are you seriously trying to compare DM or any even barely decent GM's to the failure that MJ as been running the Bobcats show? The Bobcats are the perfect example of what happens when a POORLY MANAGED team gets high draft picks. They don't know how to use them. Tanking does not guarantee winning or even a star player. Tanking guarantees you a much higher and therefore more viable draft pick to pick a player that has more easy to see potential of developing into a star. If you truly cannot see that point, then there is no point in you having this discussion with anyone.

All that clamoring about the value of the Knicks pick... (since we'll be making playoffs FOSHO)

At the end the Rockets pick is higher than the Knicks pick. So sad...

this year would had been the perfect time to tank , i think if we cant land a superstar by FA, trade, or moving up in the draft 1-5 , les should give up trying to stay competitive and just tank for 2 years and build around those two high picks time is running out

If I won the $650M Powerball, I would have bought the Rockets from Les. And as a board member, I would SURELY listen to all of your perspectives with intent. :p

They made the playoffs in 2010 (1 year after the Rockets last appearance). It's not their fault their players bailed for teams like NY/SA.

They could end up with Davis, Biyombo, Walker, Maggette, Henderson and enough cap space to bring in a quality free agent or two (and possibly snag one from the Rockets).

I wouldn't say less sounds terribly upset from the blog piece. I did find it amusing that Les is like "Man, this Morris kid NAILS all of his practice 3's with no one on him. He's a keeper!"

Not sure what your point is but don't make a big deal out of it. Getting high blood pressure can be used as an expression when somebody's really angry and upset, constantly worrying about a certain thing and unable to let it go. I can imagine Leslie going crazy right now thus he should just realize he needs to sell the team. An old man should take it slow, it's bad for your heart to get worked up at that age which I'm he is over this 6 game losing streak and over the years of barely making the playoffs. The dying part is just a joke, though one can seriously get a heart attack from worrying too much.
