They are 7-57 and if they lose their remaining two games they will actually have the worst winning % in NBA history.

Teams rest all of their best players against them and still win by double digits.

Seems like every night they lose by 20+. Their point differential is -13.9!

What's hilarious is that they somehow beat the Raptors twice. And they beat the Magic by 16 points lol.

But let's just be honest, this team is so abominable.

They are a young expansion franchise. This is ridiculous. They have messed up a few drafts, but name a team that hasn't done that.

    Just give this team time.

Watch MJ not draft Anthony Davis if given the chance.

MJ knows that you need to tank to win, and he knew how to tank properly.

Didn't they hire Rick Cho recently? I remember reading an article where he described his interview with Charlotte. He said would accept the job on the condition that MJ and the Bobcat org were 'willing to take a step back in order to take 2 steps forward.'

    Apparently, they agreed.

They're gonna be good in the next 3-4 years.

That would be freaking funny! They do have a 75% chance of not getting it though.

They might have overshot on the tanking effort. All you want need to be is a bit worse than the 2nd worst team, you don't get extra ping pong ball combos for being historically bad.

I liked how they handled it. Trading G-Wall and other guys for all those picks will pay out.

This. I don't get why MJ is getting so much criticism. Sure he screwed up with Morrison and Kwame but don't get onto him for tanking. It is Les that should be criticized more in the media.

Being the best in history at tanking doesn't do any good if a team can't draft well. The Bobcats are a disgrace to the NBA. They only have a 25% chance of getting Anthony Davis and there are no other "franchise players" coming out this year. It's Davis or bust for them. Ask yourself what big-time free agent wants to go to that dysfunctional mess this summer. What promising coach has Charlotte high on his list?

I like Rich Cho but Kemba Walker and Bismack Biyombo have questionable futures. Right now, I don't think either guy has much of an upside.

The GOAT player created the worst team in NBA history. How ironic. If big things don't happen over the summer, the sooner MJ sells them and they move, the better.

    Yes.

Kinda what I'm thinking. Sure, tank to be the worst to get the best chance at a good lotto pick. But, the second worst team has 20 wins to their 7. They overdid it.

And, it'll be nice and all to have a top-4 pick. But, aside from draft picks, they have almost no human capital at all. That top-4 pick isn't going to have much help for years to come.

Maybe their plan is to be bad for 3-4 years straight so that they can get a few high picks in a row like OKC. However, that plan takes a whole lot of luck-- not only do you have to have the right players declaring for the draft each year, you also need the luck to score a top lotto position (many drafts have only 1 elite players, some have none), the acumen to pick the right guy. Also, you need to hope that the guys you drafted don't end up suffering some career-ending injury (look at Portland).

OKC is all nice and shiny, but a tanking project (especially in a not-so-attractive market) can easily turn into SAC, WAS or GSW.

    1. It's understandable if you want to tank to get the most ping-pong balls, but their record is more a testament to being a horrendous basketball team than shrewd draft positioners.
    2. Even with the most ping-pong balls, they still only have a 25% chnace of landing the 1st pick. In most recent lotteries, the worst team has not gotten the top pick.
    3. As much as Anthony Davis is the crown jewel of this draft, he is still 19 and raw. With the rest of their roster, I don't see them being appreciably better for 2-3 years.
