If you look at the positions in which he as drafted and the trades he has been able to pull off he has been one of the best GM's in the NBA with the hand he's been dealt.

Morey would do well in the public sector.

He'd be great at heading the propaganda wing of a government.

this has got to be the dumbest thing I ever head, my cousin makes $95,000 Base + $200,000-$300,000 in bonus and he is 30.. LMAO at "hundreds of millions" in a few years

Your cousin managed a mega hedge fund?

    Didn't think so.

You need to have some knowledge about hedge funds and how much an average fund manager makes. Either that or remain silent so as to remove any doubts about your ignorance.

He almost certainly make less than Mo Taylor, Glen Rice, Kelvin Cato, Juwan Howard, and Rafer Alston made as Rockets. He might make even less than the Matt Maloney or Moochie Norris made from the Rockets. And if the Rockets fired him, he'd probably get a raise from another team. I think the Knicks wouldn't mind someone who can find role players among 2nd round picks right about now.

Complaining about GM salaries is more pointless than complaining about signing David Andersen. There's nothing wrong criticizing a GM for his moves, but his salary is generally irrelevant in the grand scheme of things.

The guy is smart and has a good education. But, that describes a lot of people, especially on Wall St. I don't see him waltzing in and picking up a cherry spot.

he could wipe out las vegas if he wanted to, but making the rockets into contenders is a bigger and more fun challenge for maury and the rest of his crew.

    Wrong.
Morey would invest too heavily on low risk, high reward OTC:BB stocks, then be forced to sell at stop-losses after they fail to show gains. Meanwhile, he'll have to hold on to his blue chips b/c they are gapping down, and losing value too quickly to interest new investors.

Trading day ends each day with Morey clutching on to unsold tickets b/c no one trusts the chubby nerd who screwed over their NYSE trading buddy last year on some call options that busted.

Assets dwindling and investors disillusioned, his last hope will lie in finding that one startup IPO to go all in on. He'll find some website that sells geeky devices like a laptop glove mouse with led lights- that only he and 3 others think is cool; and he will go broke.

The twilight of his life will be spent teaching Statistics night class at HCC, oogling single mom's earning associate degrees; and having D&D or WOW lan parties with other male math professors.
After retiring, he'll start a 2-stroke scooters-only gang called The Morey Eels. And he will be buried in his biker club leather jacket with a "1%er" patch and Houston on the top rocker.

    IMHO
