I'm no expert but I imagine to someone who was, an image of what the current status is would likely guide the response with regards to best care. OP, good luck getting actual advice. I don't have any tats but see abso Utterly no problem with them, understand their purpose and historical context... But know tattoo threads on the bbs usually quickly devolve into stupidity.
Swoly got one thing right here; if you give a **** about what people think, you shouldn't get a tattoo.
OP. If you like the tattoo and it has meaning to you then it looks great and you have something there to be proud of. Don't listen to these IT helpdesk kids on here. Most of them would never be able to stand the minor pain from a tattoo and the others couldn't even afford one to begin with. If you want real feedback on your tattoo, go to a forum that has grown, mature men on it, not this nerdy little circle jerk known as the clutchfans hangout.
No, we are just mostly mature people with careers and an education. I would't want to risk a career for some street cred tat Carry on.
getting a tattoo has nothing to do with maturity and education. people get tattoos for a variety of reasons. sometimes they turn out bad but who cares.
I've seen you post this "IT help desk" thing several times and I'm really curious why. Is it because a lot of us on here work in the IT field? You think it's an insult to point that out? I actually enjoy what I do and think it's a cool industry to be in. I haven't done help desk since I started out years ago, but I don't see anything wrong with doing it. You seem to have a problem with the majority of people that post here. So why do you?
weird that you would know that. i don't recall posting about it. maybe it's been so long since. did we play ball together? anyhow, if you're suggesting that i'm defending anyone's choice to get a tattoo only because i have one you're off base. like i said, there are a variety of reasons. the only one i might laugh at is "everyone else is doing it."
Tattoos don't really mean anything any longer. They've been appropriated by the same sort of people who, twenty (maybe even 10) years ago, would have felt scared if a tattooed person walked by them at night.
You answered your own question. I understand a lot of people here work in IT, but if your still on the helpdesk your just a child IMO. Seems like you moved on to bigger and better things - so my point when I say "IT helpdesk" is to signify the age and maturity of these kids here in the hangout who know very little about life and even less about business. I work in IT as well and have for the past 16 years. I know all about it. Why do I post here? Because I help people. Just ask Macalu. If you get offended by my posts about life/business then that's because you are defensive and don't want to improve your situation. My posting style is constructive criticism. Sometimes it hits people right where it needs to and my mentor did it to me back when I was on the helpdesk.
I'm friends with the lady who is the main IT help desk contact at our company. I'll be sure to stop by and let her know she is a child and needs to move on with her life. I'm sure she will appreciate the constructive criticism.
