Artest is going to be suspended for the rest of the season and the playoffs -- all of his good deeds the past few years just went out the window.
Damn that sucks. With the way Harden was playing I don't think the Lakers would have won this game if he didn't get hurt.
to me the contact with Harden before the elbow makes it far worse, since it makes it 100% clear that Ron knew he was there. 10 games is not nearly enough, given his history. rest of the season and 30 days of next season is about right
Never liked the guy, too unstable, hated him on the Rockets....glad he is gone....would love to see him suspended for 20ish games. DD
I think 5-10 games too, if it were any other player but since it's Ron Artest I wonder if Stern will add more games because of his past. I forget how long was Bynum's suspension? I know I remember him being suspended going into next year, this incident was worse though especially since Harden has a concussion.
Bynum was initially 5 games that was reduced to 4. Safe to say Artest will get at least 5 but no way to tell how much his past will be considered. I should add that Bynum had a history that was likely considered in the Barea incident.
Given the pattern of behavior with Bynum and Artest on the Lakers, I support banning the Lakers from the post-season. All in favor?
Bynum's suspension should have been more than 5 games. MWP's should at least be 15. There is no place for blatant, violent cheap shots that have NOTHING to do with making a basketball play. Heat of the moment, whatever, doesn't matter. Some posters here think Harden should not have gotten in his way? WTH?
Metta World Peace is thug. Want him back on the Rockets. Harden wrong place wrong time. Rockets need to pick him up next season.
''I got real emotional and excited, and it was unfortunate that James had to get hit with the unintentional elbow,'' said World Peace, who had scored 12 points and played solid defense on Durant. ''I hope he's OK. Oklahoma, they're playing for a championship this year. I apologize to the Thunder and James Harden. It was just unfortunate.'' You see guys, he didn't mean it. He's a nice guy.
