You know what's worse? Black Basketball players. Even worse? Black NFL players. After them, it's those Messicans. I can't stand none of them folks. We need to stop them from taking over our sports, like MMA. Who's with me? Anyone? Anyone?
Thought there would be a discussion about the event but instead there's... this. Right. So yes, somewhat disappointing that there was no finish. I'm inclined to agree with robbie's post, it seemed that Jones wasn't too interested in ending it early. But I'm glad Jones won. I like Jones as a fighter a lot. And from what I know, I don't have any reason to suspect him being fake as a person either. All around solid fights even if the main event was a bit underwhelming.
That is what gets me. I'm puzzled by all those that want to find a reason to hate Jones so they hop on the "he's fake-humble" rubbish. What proof is there that he's putting on a front???? Did you shadow him for a week and watch him interact with people? Did teammates come out and basically call him a horrible person? Maybe I'm out of the loop but I'd really like to know.
So please explain how "he thinks he's Jesus"? Did he say he wouldn't answer to any name except "Jesus" or "The Messiah"?
I don't hate Jones but I don't root for him. He has been hyped and promoted too much by the UFC. I am not gonna support the UFC's cover boy no matter what he does outside the ring. Also, I believe people should keep their religious views to themselves and Jones doesn't.
Some people like him and some people don't. Just like how I don't try to justify why you like him you shouldn't try to justify why there are people that don't like him. Get over it. Sometimes people just root for the underdog and want to see the guy at the top to fall. Is there anything wrong with that?
Jon Jones is physically gifted like Roy Jones or silva or gsp. The only person to defeat him will be father time.
My bad, I meant he thinks he's the Jesus of MMA, and likes to talk about Jesus A LOT. If you watch enough of his interviews you will realize how big his ego is and how hard he tries to hide it. Plus he is a proven dirty fighter in the octagon. I'm pretty indifferent towards him, but I can see why so many people dislikes him.
No **** sherlock. Some people like apples and some don't. My thing is at least have a reason why you don't like him but if you don't have a reason and it's just some irrational dislike then that's fine, just state that. If one is going to say it's because he's "Jesus" then I think its valid to ask for when he's insinuated such. (apollo33 clarified his comments though). Whatevs though, I'm sure he doesn't give a **** so meh, I shouldn't bother either.
Jones is so good, but those elbows are just wrong -- when he was smacking Evans it was like he was throwing left hooks. I'm surprised he didn't slash Evans open with a couple of those shots. And forget it if he hits you with one while you're on the canvas -- that's a razor blade gash. It almost wouldn't be too controversial to make MMA fighters wear some sort of elbow pads to prevent that. I'll be rooting for Hendo -- he'll actually go for it and take the loss KO if his attack fails, but there is no way he is lasting 5 rounds with Jones. If Hendo doesn't win in the first 2 rounds (maybe 3) then it's an easy KO for Jones in the 4th or 5th.
Dan Henderson has never been defeated via KO or TKO. His chin is made of granite. If Hendo loses it's going to be because of submission. If Jones loses it's going to be due to an H-bomb to the dome piece.
