Seriously, Can we root for the Rockets to make the playoffs and not get "Eat Crow" **** from other fans. so sigh This thread is not for arguing,,,just commiserating and hoping we still make the playoffs. so so sigh. ps: Tankers, if you think and know you are right, go to another thread, please.
I know this is an unpopular opinion, and I haven't really seen it mentioned anywhere, but I think we should just take our medicine and tank. We probably won't make the playoffs anyway, and even if we do we won't go anywhere. Sidenote: This team needs a superstar. Get on that Murray. Trade for LeBrun.
How about a two month moratorium, until just before the draft, please. The Rockets can't do any personnel moves until then, anyway.
I have never ever been pro-tanking. But three consecutive years picking at #14... Gimme a break. It is almost ridiculous. Just tired of being the best team to never making to the playoffs. A friend told me recently (Bulls fan), "I do not know why you talk so much about Houston all the time. The Rockets suck." First team ever to win a championship without tanking? Not happening.
This season has definitely been the most frustrating one in a long time. I know there is a 0.1% chance that we can still make the playoffs but here are our 2 chances: Rockets somehow win every game: 35-31 Utah loses every game or just 2: 33-33 or 34-32 Phoenix just wins the game against Utah: 34-32 Rockets somehow win every game: 35-31 Utah just wins against Phoenix: 34-32 Phoenix loses every game or just 2: 33-33 or 34-32 are the rockets going to make the playoffs? 99% sure they won't I would always root for the rockets to make the playoffs, but this year I can't because If we do make it we will lose our lottery pick. I am never pro tanking, but I'd rather have a lottery pick than watch this team get DESTROYED in the first round. (insert cliche line)
ok, let's say at the beginning of the season, morey trades Scola and Martin for future picks. and we trade Lowry straight up for Steve Novak in the ultimate tank maneuver ... (we think) But then Dragic and Lin win 20 games by themselves, and Novak wins 5 by himself. What then....we get the 10th pick or sumpin. It is very difficult to be as bad as Charlotte. tankers: now stop posting in my thread. Go to your Pro-Tanking thread and be nice little boys.
Where did the term "eat crow" originate from? Why not something more appetizing like sirloin or buffalo wings or chalupas?
I've never been "pro-tanking" but now I understand the pro tankers perspective. Right now there appears to be no real hope of the team going anywhere. What makes this season so frustrating is throughout the season, there was some hope and people were even thinking the Rox had a chance at 4th seed and home court advantage just to crash and burn over past week. If a miracle takes place and the Rox make playoffs, sure I'll watch, but it's going to be hard to be as emotionally invested in this team at this point. It's just my way of protecting against disappointment. The Rox organization is in limbo right now and that's not all that exciting for the average fan.
I've never been a pro tanker but at this point of the season and seeing how the past 2 seasons went, ya might as well get a draft pick higher than that damn 14 since we're out of the playoffs anyways
The goal is to find a core group of guys that you can build around for the future and getting rid of all who aren't in the group. We can do this by trade, tank, etc. I don't care about to record as long as there's hope for a brighter future. I like the rockets giving it their all, but their all just isn't good enough especially with the west being even stronger next season.
