He had one season with 16.1 and one with 18 for Sactown. He is a tad better than the average role player. Granted he is not close to a star, but he is close to an offensive specialist.... just an average rebounder though...
Yes... Landry was willing to come off the bench... and he was a difference maker off the bench, just not as a starter
Its patterson second season his first ended in surgery and so will his second season and on top of that it was a short season that he had to sit out the start of hopefully his surgery will be right after the season so he can be 100% for the start of next season...trust me if in fact landry is better some how it isn't by much...
funny, ppl here are interested in starting to build all windows, doors, walls... before knowing what the foundation is.
Re read those stats buddy that was all that year -he hasn't avg. over 12 ppg since...has missed many games also. Martin was and still is the better Player
What fans have to realize is that players LOVE to show up against their former teams. What we saw last night from Landry isn't the usual. He gave the extra effort to show up against his former team and teammates. I'm sure he still has close friends here and wanted bragging rights. 10 boards is almost twice the norm for him. 20 points he's capable of, but even with more minutes in sac he didnt crack 20 a game. His FG% has consistently dropped every season, except for one. When he was here, he was well over 50%, even 60% his first year. Now he's barely reaching 50%. So, we traded him because he was a finished product who had some weaknesses waiting to be exposed, and it was a matter of time before teams adapted to him and his numbers dropped.
When Landry was traded wasn't he like 2nd in the NBA in 4th quarter scoring? Sure seems like we could use a guy like that now. I've said it before and I'll say it again. It was a huge mistake trading Jordan Hill. We could have really used him coming off the bench these last 6 games.
I'd love to have Landry back. He would bring a huge spark offensively off the bench. If we could get him at his old contract levels, that would be amazing. It's probably not possible, though.
Matin being traded for landry should tell you what teas thought about martin. They should've never traded landry, let scola walk and had cap room. Martin is a zero in the heat regardless of what they say. I know and everyone else know landry was one of the rockets best closers and they gave him up for fools gold. Now, I'm not saying he should've ben given 10m, but I would've rather had landry at 3m than scola at 8 or martin at 12.
Umm..have you followed Landry other than last night? His productivity sort of fell off a cliff in Sacramento so they shipped him onward, but he still hasn't gotten back to where he was. BTW he makes 8.5 mm, not 3.
Patterson is better...uh, NO. People have been saying that for the past two years. Landry destroys Patterson and we should have never traded him.
Landry did to us the other night what he used to do to other teams when he was on the Rox. In the battle of the boards he'd come up with the offensive rebound and put-back 9 out of 10 times.
what an incredibly short sighted view point .. we can all agree kevin martin has been sucking it up this year he is STILL averaging 7 more points than landry .. even if you JUST look at the per 36 in his off season martin still has better stats forget about the years that he actually played well.... Dont forget that trade also got rid of TMAC, got us a first round pick from ny and the right to swap first round picks (this was pre melo and amare)
Here's side by side stats of both players. Looks to me CL is a better all around player. http://www.nba.com/advancedstats/player-vs-player.html#Kevin-Martin-vs-Carl-Landry|2755,201171;year=201011;season=r GP MIN PTS FGA FG% 3PA 3P% FTA REB AST PF +/- KM Overall 80 2599 26.0 17.5 44% 6.4 38% 9.3 3.6 2.7 2.1 2.3 CL Overall 76 2008 16.1 12.3 50% 0.1 0% 5.2 6.2 1.1 3.5 -3.0 Sorry, could not get the columns to line up right.
