It's so weired. Earlier in the season when comparing Howard to Bynum, people were questioning Bynum about being injury prone. Oh how the turn tables have turned!!!

The Magic were idiots for not trading him last Summer.

Damn that really sucks. Back surgery is no ****in joke. I hope the guy can return to the NBA at close to the same level he was at.

    Even simply earlier this season.

Are there any examples of players coming back from back surgery and being very good?

Larry Bird had back surgery in 1991 and was pretty much done. He came back for one season and played 45 games. But he was much older than Dwight is right now.

Agreed. It should be a gamechanger for any suitors.

You can also argue Howard was an idiot for not signing an extension.

You know... Rudy took a bunch of amateurs and took bronze once. We don't need our best players to win the Olympics, we just need well coached guys that are on the same page and committed. Focused.

There is a good chance that team doesn't win the gold.

l would still buy low and take him, even if it means his next several years will resemble David Robinson post-injury. With his size and strength, he'd still anchor any team well. Meanwhile, we're sporting one of the saddest frontcourts in the league.

They should. I mean look at the competition, I get that there are NBA players on the opposing teams nowadays, but only 1-3. How hard can it be? Talent-wise, Team USA should be fine. Talent isn't the issue. Its been chemistry and focus.

 Players play with a disc bulge all the time.... and usually they do not require going under the knife.... indeed most people over 45 have them and dont even know they have them...

He could have played in the playoffs and had surgery in the off season...
