Just looking if we can get ahead of bucks...it is very likely we can snag tyler zeller with our pick. That would be the best case scenario. Plus we could be the only team that could put out a legit starting all white team lol Dragic Bud Parsons Montiejunas Zeller
I think we should go for somebody with superstar size & athleticism. Of course in our position we will have to accept some roughness around the edges to get that. I would be happy trading up a few spots to get Perry Jones Also there is some potential to be had in the late teens and 20s picks.
I was just thinking ... with howard magic issue getting worse. What if... (several reports said that we were right there at the end) we offer Our pick / Knicks pick / Dallas pick in 2013 a combo for Lowry/martin/scola/ dalembert for Howard (a player or two) and their late first round pick. Then...because we got howard ... D will signs with us. We then resign dragic ( no way he leaves then) We have Dwill/Dragic Lee/Dragic Parsons/Morris/Budd MonteJunas/Patterson Howard/Camby ........... Plus we might be able to get them to throw in big baby. I say that is very realistic and would make me love morey lol.
Just looking you got 4 starters and and 2 bench players that are extremely good two way players (D and O)... man... I think that is the best team in the league.
A) Where would we get the money for Dragic & B) Why would he want to play a backup role where he'll get less minutes than he did behind Lowry?
Any chance Dallas moves into the 21st spot and we get their pick this year? At a quick glance, it doesn't look likely, but i'm curious if there is any sort of a plausable chance. If I remember correctly, 3 out of these 4 teams (Atlanta, Boston, Orlando, and Memphis) would have to lose a couple games, while Dallas keeps winning. We are so close to getting that pick in a deep draft, it would suck to barely miss out (which, again, looks pretty likely).
lamarcus is the type of player we need to make the great leap forward out of comrade yao's shadow. I doubt portland would do that trade. I would even add martin plus ppat and take back one of their bad contracts. Camby/d-mo lamarcus/scola/d-mo Parsons/Morris/bud Lee/Bud Dragic/dragic/dragic (mctalky can play him 47 minutes and 14 seconds a game)
well...we loose dalembert, scola, and martin..amnesty one of you have too. Whatever trade we do with magic that has to be taken into consideration...we give up enough salary to sign d will and dragic...wont be that hard...because say if we cant move scola we can amnesty him and take 10 mill of the books like that. Second...dragic would be 6th man...back up sg and pg...i think hed be fine with that as long as his minutes are high ...playing for a team like that and still get his $$$...pretty sure thats an easy sell my friend
I like Lamarcus, but I dont feel like Lamarcus is a big enough upgrade over scola. I could be ok with that trade if it enabled us to deal scola for someone nice though.
I like that you are shooting for the stars, and I agree that team would obviously be top 5 in the NBA. However, I think you're overlooking the Dragic scenario. He's said all along he wants to be a starting PG in this league, not a 6th man SG on a really good team. Hell, if he goes to the Blazers, with what they have in place, that team could be deadly as well. And correct me if I'm wrong, but can't the Rockets only afford 2 max contracts IF they were to cut Dally along with a number of other moves? Meaning, Dragic and his 9 M/Year just isn't going to happen with Howard & DWill on the payroll.
What if we sign Dragic to an acceptable (whatever that is) deal and eliminate the chances for Portland to steal him? Granted, we can't sign him til July, after the draft, but Dragic and his agent can certainly rebuff suitors if they feel the deal they'd get from us is, again, "acceptable": "We'll listen to what you have to say, but..." Probably a better solution is to find a team that already has cap space and trade Lowry before the draft. Other than Sacramento, I don't know who that'd be.
Yah be he wants to be starting PG...so he can increase his $$$...if we pay him like a starting pg...then I think that solves the problem. You sell him on the jason terry role...and say you will play alot with D will...that would be a sick backcourt. They could do it because its a trade not a signing for howard. We can afford 1 max deal now...and with a little maneuvering we can resign lee. Then we take on howards deal by trading away GREATER salary for the shorterm...but larger on the long term. Then the next year you sign Howard to an extension. So for example say we trade martin and lowry for howard (clean swap) we are in the same financial position as before. Thats not going to happen but what I was suggesting is...whatever trade we do set it up where we have more cap room after the trade then before...by giving more younger assets and draft picks. Then say we have scola...and we try to convence dragic to stay...if we can trade his contract for say draft pick...we can always amensity him free another 10 mil to sign dragic.
