Silverfish I believe, harmless, but they scare the sh** out of you when you see 'em. (I always think it's a centipede)
Silverfish don't have long extended legs like that. I'm going to assume it's a house centipede (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scutigera_coleoptrata) until someone gives me reason to believe otherwise.
I think a shart is much, much worse than any of those mentioned. How do you even recover from one when you're not at home?
