I was playing 2K12 yesterday, playing a of tmodern stars with one of Wilt's teams. Seeing guys who normally wouldn't play together was interesting. That got me thinking, what are some pairings or teams you wish you could see, but are impossible? I'd like to see: Hakeem and Jordan (same draft, nearly ended up together in Houston. Two of the most dominant players of their era. ) Bird and Magic (same reasons as Hakeem and Jordan, but I'm also intrigued because both players had such similar skillsets) Kobe on the '08 Celtics and Pierce on the '08 Lakers (Bill Simmons brought this up, I'd like to see a replay of that finals with these guys switched to see just how valuable each was to the final outcome) Lebron, Durant, or DWade on a Jordan Bulls team (these guys get compared to Jordan, can they live it up?) Jordan on '07 Lakers (Can MJ shine where his heir apparent couldn't? How well can Jordan play with the new rules?) Dwight Howard on Hakeem's '94 team (Just wanted to see how well Howard would fare in the golden age of big men) What are some of yours?
Jordan and Hakeem would have to be one. If they were as good as they were on the bulls and rockets and kept that same level of play but were on the same team. No other team would have had a chance.
If they could figure out how to share the ball and managed to split it evenly between Jordan and Hakeem, they'd be unstoppable. Defensively, Jordan was just as good, if not better than, Pippen. Hakeem is obviously a great defender. Unless they played with absolute trash, they'd blow every team out of the water. Teams would have to double Mike and Hakeem, leaving the forwards open for an easy shot.
Magic and Dr. J. Bird and Drexler. (When Drexler came into the NBA, Bird said if he played with Clyde he could make him an All-Star.) Nique and Jason Kidd. Billy Paultz and Kevin Duckworth.
im probably biased but i actually think these are the 2 best players to ever play the game. jordan being number 1 and hakeem 2. seriously i think they are actually the best, i didnt really think about that when i made that other post.
Replace current Scola with 1993 Charles Barkley, do the Rockets win the title this year? Rockets trade Sampson to Portland in 1984 for Drexler and #2 pick, selecting Charles Barkley, bringing the big three together to start their careers. How many titles do the Rox win over the next 12 seasons?
A 100% healthy Yao, a 100% healthy T-Mac, and the artist formerly known as Artest. sigh... What might have been... Scola, Landry, Battier, and KLow were all supposed to complement those 3.
