You are stupid. Why would we have Ariza if we already had Rudy Gay? So there goes your point about Courtney Lee. How would we sign Dalembert without cap space due to Rudy's contact? There goes Dally. How would we have Camby without thabeet and Flynn? Remember, we wouldn't have Battier to trade for hasheem, and we needed his bloated salary for the Camby trade. OJ Mayo? Lol, and getting Artest was worth losing Batum.
Rudy Gay has been killing it late this season. He's been essentially carrying the Griz the last 4 or 5 games. Just having a guy like that who is clutch and excels in high impact situations may have been enough to get the Rockets over the edge and in the playoffs this season if you wanted to see Houston in the post-season. Yeah, it's a vicious cycle. Next season the organization will come up with a nice sounding slogan and a bunch of propaganda about what they're doing, who they tried to acquire, how they tried to move up in the draft, and how the player they drafted compares favorably to some established star in the NBA and then everybody gets all excited again. Then we all get to ride the medicrity treadmill once again...Rinse, recycle, and repeat. The bottom line is that the Rockets have only won 1 playoff series in the last 15 YEARS.
Wow. I just can't believe it. It really does suck to be stuck in the middle of nowhere. Never good enough to make the playoffs. Never bad enough to get a good young guy in the lottery. ****, it sucks to be a Rockets fan.
I keep telling myself to stop watching the games, but my loyalty and hope keeps biting me in the ass.
Dude I know how you feel. What's worse for me is that I'm not even a huge fan of any other team. I like the Texans. I like the Dynamo. However, nothing feels as special as when the Rockets actually have a special team put together. I guess this year it's hitting me particularly hard since times are a bit tough in my personal life. The Rockets are one of the couple of things I look forward to, but they just keep killing my spirits even more. This is so so disappointing.
rebuilding is a long process, this is just another wasted year. trying to put a competitor together solely out of late 1st & 2nd rounders isnt cutting it.. scola and martins contracts should be off the payroll, exchanged for expirings. decline the option on dalembert next year. just allow the rockets to suck for the time being, draft high and make smart decisions with the cap room.. im not sure what FAs will be hitting the market within the next few years.. but the immediate future doesnt look promising, we should be thinking a 5 year process, clearing cap room, and drafting high-end talent. this process should have been started this year..
woo another year of not making the playoffs! who needs a superstar? we sure don't. tanking is for losers!

or we could keep the current cast, continue to sign and trade for more role players, and watch this team struggle to maintain the 9th seed the next 3-4 years..
I could definitely live with this. I don't like losing, I never support tanking, but I can't stand being stuck in the middle of nowhere forever. If the Rockets would be all in for playing the young guys and seeing what they have in Donuts, Morris, etc, I'd be happy to cruise along for the ride. Unfortunately they keep me in limbo not knowing what exactly their plans are. Next season will probably be my last a season ticket holder because it's not worth it to keep giving money to an organization that hasn't had any luck in the last decade.
