The city of Houston sports teams seem to always find the most soul crushing way to lose or screw up a good thing.

Think of 2 years ago when the Texans were losing on hail mary's.
Think of Schaub's foot injury just when we were rolling this year.
    Jacoby Jones. Nuff said.

Astros FINALLY make a series in 2005...only to get swept even though every game was SOOOO close.

Rockets....15 years...1 playoff series win. The one time we win? We take the Lakers to 7!!!.....but Yao goes down.

etc. etc. etc...... you guys know the story.

Its gotten beyond the point of being ridiculous. Its downright.....weird.

Did Rudy T. sell our collective sports souls to the devil in '95 or what?

The problem is the tie breakers - the Rox have lost these with both Phoenix & Utah. My gut tells me that they'll end up tied with the Jazz and will then lose out because the Jazz hold the tie breaker over them.

Ridiculous statement. Is there anyone on this Rocket team you wouldn't trade for Dirk? If you replaced Scola with Dirk as PF, this team souls be at least a 4 seed playoff team.

I really think we can win out. I doubt wade/bosh play against us. So its basically houston vs lebron that game. The others are just games where we win if we show up with any effort whatsoever.

You know who REALLY amazes me? The young Rockets fans who weren't really around to watch the title run years.

I mean....how do you kids do it? How do you continue to support a team that in your lifetime has known nothing but loss, misery, injuries, broken promises, reneged trades, and essentially ZERO playoff success (on the rare occassions they make it).

At least the old timers can reflect back on the '94/'95 years or even the 80's when the team wasn't winning titles....but was dangerous.

I'm seriously impressed for the younger Rox fans who haven't abandoned ship.

The problem with your analysis is that you are "assuming" that the Heat will be content to blow off this game. What happens if they decide to send a message to the rest of the league and use this game to make a statement?

Glad I didn't see the game, looked like we were right there but Choke City was again in effect. Camby's a warrior played 36 minutes with his back hurt. Dalembert didn't play that much, why is that, I thought Camby's injury was worse than The Bear's?

How did our effort look, was Kyle hustling or still going through his do not care mode?

I was born in 1993, so I was a little too young to watch the championships. :(

I started following the Rockets Yao's rookie season (not because of Yao though, just got into basketball at that time). I've pretty much watched every Rockets game ever since.

What keeps me going is my love of the game of basketball. I'm just addicted to the Rockets.

    *sigh* Maybe one day...

Count me in on that ship. Born in 1992, I didn't become a serious, knowledgeable fan until the days of Steve Francis. I always hear from my dad "Man, you woulda liked to have seen Hakeem play." Sigh...

The best thing I saw in my lifetime with the Rockets was that Rockets LA series, and before and after that have all been injuries, heartbreaking losses, just straight bad luck. I'm 17 man, I so wish I saw those 94/95 Rockets..

Haha, I was born in 1990 and started watching them when Charles Barkley was here.

But I do happen to own the DVD's of the entire 1994 NBA Finals series, so that always cheers me up!

I watched the Rockets win Game 7 against the Knicks in person. Next year I was in Hawaii when we repeated. The best of times.

That has nothing to do with my statement. Of course I'd trade anyone for Dirk. He's a superstar the way the game is called now. I was just pointing out that his game would be flawed in any other era.
