I currently have 6 delivery drivers working for me. All their parents are divorced except for one of them.

I have had probably about 12-15 delivery drivers in the past year and half and all of them came from divorced families except for 2 or 3. :(

Every driver whose parents are divorced have deadbeat dads as well. smh think about it guys, out of 12-15 different people, only 2-3 have parents whose marriages are still intact.

Saw a ad for quickie divorce for $395 that prompted this post. Just a sad sad time in our society.

Did their parents get divorced after their childhoods or during?

divorce rate has been high for a while now...it was listed as 50% a few years ago, probably has gone up some, and I don't believe they took into consideration separated couples.

[This isn't going to end well... yeah, I'm here already, everyone!]

    Why is it "sad"?

People don't give a darn and marry whoever and whenever thinking "oh, that's no biggie, I can just divorce later!" or think that they can live together without "getting married" and "oh, well" has become an accepted answer.

Be careful talking about divorce around here... people get antsy, angry, upset with that topic...

Agree with you 100% on how people see marriage these days. I'm happy to say my parents are still together and have been married for 42 years. Do they argue on occasion, yes but they work things out and life goes on. I look up to them and hope that I can have the same one day.

People just don't take marriage seriously enough these days.

+1. Why stay in an unhealthy, unhappy relationship?

My parents are about to celebrate their 50th and are seriously more happy than I've ever seen them. I guess I was just lucky, or had strong parents who believed in a life long commitment and did whatever possible to make it through.

True, sir. But even then, people don't care how it's going to affect MORE than just the kids... it's going to affect them FOREVER.

B!tches won't change, machos won't change their ways for the better.

that's just sad if thats the case then. its not like kids can just move on to a different set of parents. So the parents get happy but the kids get dad on the weekends 2 times a month.

This is the part that makes me angry. If you are going to have kids, be prepared to be a good parent to those children. Too many people having kids today that just don't understand what it takes to be a good parent.

its amazing, I am convinced that every divorced dad is a deadbeat unless my restaurant has some sort of secret smell that attracts kids of deadbeat dads.

Problem is that people get married too young...before they have even learned about themselves.

I went to Second Baptist High School...class size of about 68. Within 5 years of graduating high school, half of my class was already married. At our 10 year reunion, only 3 people were not married...me being one of them. You need to go through some of life's challenges to grow and develop. When you are 24, you are a different person than when you are 30. People need to just chill with rushing into a marriage. Learn about yourself first, then settle down when you know exactly what you want.
