I honestly thought going into beta I would be playing a Barb. After spending the first few weeks trying out different classes, I had come to realize I was a killing machine with a Wizard. Then patch 16 came out and my favorite build got screwed up with the skills I was using moved to level 38, so now I am down to trying to decide what I want to play. I'm leaning towards Monk with my secondary being a wizard still. I couldn't get into the Witch Doctor, and I enjoyed the Monk more as a melee class than the Barb.
Well, easiest to run heedlessly into crowds with. I think that's pretty much a given. But on the other hand, a ranged class like the Wizard could be considered a n00b class. Honestly I don't think the label is all that applicable. They all seem well-balanced, and I don't think one class is going to take a lot more skill to play well than another class, it just comes down to personal preference.
I have always liked the Wiz. Maybe I will start with a Barb this time. Loved how Wiz was able to kill friends by accident with one fireball (while Sapmming) in Diablo I
Yeah, I could never get into the barb in Diablo 2. He was a great character but I found him bland to play. I used mostly the Paladin and Sorceress myself.
Started with a Paladin, ended with an Amazon. It's too fun to out-range everything. Barbs are a bit too on the generic warrior side for me.
After playing with every character, I ended up with same, a Hammerdin and FB Sorc. Found them to be the most versatile and easiest to play with. I am really curious to see how PVP will work in D3. Can't see the need for a character without Enigma.
thinking about an 27" imac soon when they get updated. in combination with this game makes me feel nerdy all the way to my soul.
the barb in diablo3 is the most well received class, it's either on someone's 'got to play first' list or 'got to play' list, he's never really on the bottom like the WD or Monk I find the monk to be super boring... he looks like tyson chandler before tyson shaved that nasty thing DH was my favorite, but each patch has diminished my enjoyment of her, though i'll probably still play her first at release beta ending 5/1 btw
You're not an uber-nerd until you play a game on something like an Eyefinity setup (which I don't believe is officially supported for D3, but I've seen people run in Beta). There's a developer at work that codes on 2 30" monitors. I told him he could damn-near literally dive into his code.
Well, actually, Newegg has Diablo III (Pre-order) for $60 - $10 with promo code EMCNFJC22 = $50 with free shipping. That deal is on for quite a while now.
I got mine when I signed up for a year of WOW And I don't even play WoW that much, but a couple of hours on the weekends aint horrible.
The annual pass for free D3 was a great market scheme to 1. pad the wow sub numbers for the next 4 quarters due to the inevitable decline and 2. make people go "hey, I already have the active sub, might as well spend another $40 and check out the panda expansion!" Every once in a while, I'd get that itch to renew the sub and play wow again until I get bored. It's a habit that never really goes away
