That play just made me sick. It most likely cost us the game and maybe a playoff spot. It should have been reviewed.
The play where they called Patterson for charging into Gallinari while Gallinari was NOT set and BACKPEDALING the whole time was pretty bad too. Still, Rockets probably don't get MUCH benefit of the doubt when they have Scola and Lowry on their team. Rockets will get some calls, but probably lose some too when it has to go "both ways. Meaning that flopping is "relative" in the end, which means just GET RID of IT.
Oops I thought the play came later in the game. With so many bad calls it gets confusing. Whatever - it was just flat out wrong. Yeah, the Rockets have had some "off" games - but so many times they have hustled and fought so hard - to lose games because of bad calls. If the games were called fairly I just know the Rockets would have won more. I hate the flopping as much as the next person. Or better said the acting jobs on many calls. The no-calls on travelling, carrying, time in the paint not called on other teams etc. The FT disparity. etc. Play fair and officiate fairly. Too much to ask for from grown men?
The flopping, the bad officiating. I really feel replays should be better used in instances like this. Kicking out the leg was changed to an Offensive foul in recent years yet the officials are giving the calls to the shooter. Like JVG I feel like this along with rewarding tankers is hurting the NBA as a product. When it's being pointed out like this, the league should really take action in correcting it.
That was also infuriating. I wonder if pdpat is to blame for the much of the Rockets disadvantage in officiating. To be honest I don't blame the refs for the Rockets recent losing but plays like this are a real momentum changer.
I don't watch WNBA. Do the women play like this? Is it officiated like this? Different commissioner? Are things as bad/allowed/overlooked etc in the WNBA as the NBA?
Not a dude. Don't watch WNBA. Just questioning if the women play straight up basketball. The NBA is starting to resemble the nWO wrestling. More acting than sport. It does appear Brewer tripped Dragic and that should have been an offensive foul. Does CB normally kick out a leg when shooting? Does he have that "play" in his book - and was just waiting for the perfect chance to use it? Brilliant - have a defender come flying at you and stick out a leg. Goran could have been hurt. What if he had not been able to catch his balance? What if he had "sold" the play and fallen down?
It's obvious that the NBA is rigged to an extent. They think by letting players flop they are going to fool the fans. Something like pro wrestling. Flopping has limited the NBA so much and has made watching the game boring, monotonous, and completely frustrating. JVG had a good point when he said when he came into the league, that when players took a charge, they took a football like hit. Now the defender gets the benefit of the doubt...I'm not saying it's rigged to the point that the opposing team knows they are going to lose, but I'm sure coaches know when they are going to get calls and they tell their players to flop. NBA refs have been to federal prison and have admitted to rigging important games. I'm also not saying that every game is rigged because there have been games that the refs just let them play like men. I think aliens might be in on it actually. I've seen a few UFOs on the way to the Toyota Center and... Just kidding but seriously I have to point out the obvious. I'm not saying it's systematically rigged, 100 percent. I'm just bringing it up because it's become obvious that something is going on.
