What a waste...of the poor cabbie's life, and of the two girls, they could have gone on to become p*rn stars or something.

    They should have claimed self-defense.

I'm not a fan of trying minors as adults; but at 16 is there any reason to assume they won't be? And I wonder what the criteria are for capital murder, I thought it was murder in the commission of another crime.

Too bad they won't look like that after 4-5 years in prison. Honestly, I don't know why they couldn't have just started hookin' at school for cash.

Crazy knife-loving b****. I would not hit. She would cut of Mr. P and smile for the mugshot.

This is all a ploy for MTV's next hit "16 and Locked Up."

Was there any reason to think the police weren't conducting a thorough investigation? Posts like this just show that people STILL don't understand the reason for the outrage. Time until arrest had nothing to do with it.

No, I understand the reason for the outrage, but there is no evidence the police were not conducting a thorough investigation in either case. Zimmerman was questioned for 6 hours the night of the murder, was taken into custody for questioning and the chief investigating officer suggested manslaughter charges to the district attorney.

Not liking the fact that Zimmerman had been arrested is not a reflection of the police department necessarily. The DA makes the final call, and the legislature passed the stand your ground statute which has made it that much harder for the police department and DA to do their job.

It is not uncommon for the DA to spend weeks or months to investigate prior to pressing charges.

Agreed - but the way it was initially reported was that the police department was incompetent and seemed uninterested in investigating the case - that's what sparked the outrage in that case. Whether it turned out to be true or not is another matter, but doesn't affect what sparked the fire. That's something that doesn't appear to be present here, so there's no outrage.

I agree with you... I would just add my post was pointing out that we shouldn't jump to conclusions.. Which, as you pointed out, some did... And the difference is how the media packaged and covered each case.. And I am not a ditto-head, they are equal opportunity transgressors, look at the Time cover of OJ Simpson where they made his skin darker..

If she is being charged as an adult does that make her legal?

Honestly Nook, I can't believe you are bringing this up. Other than the fact that someone was killed I don't see any similarity between the two cases that it would be relevant to bring even bring this point up.

Alas these are so funny to me . . .
as a black person . . in order for me to speak up for me and mine
I *HAVE* TO . . speak up for everyone else on every occassion
else. . . . me speaking up for me and mine .. is invalid

    YET!
No other group has this caveat attached to their attempts to get justice for their groups. .. .

GOTTA LOVE AMERICA and its citizens . . . IKR????
