I have seen more and more dissent from Kyle. I have seen him completely ignore coach or talking expletives on the sidelines about him. Last night with 3:55 left in second quarter, McHale calls a 20. Kyle doesn't even go to the huddle, and McHale is yelling "Kyle!", looks around "whats his problem". After the 4 person huddle, Kyle did not play until the end of the 4th quarter. I noticed Dragic and Lee on the sidelines telling McHale to put Kyle back in so he finally did. This is not the first episode I have witnessed. I saw him ignore those huddles pre-tummybug. He seems to have no patience for McHale and does not respect him at all. Why?
kyle has a philly attitude. it's probably a result of cracking under the pressure of trying to make the playoffs and blowing it. he also seems to have a anti-authority attitude based on how he always talks to refs the way he does. also, i'm sure he feels that a lot of the blame for our 4 game losing streak falls on mchale, but that's no excuse to behave like you've described.
McHale is lucky Lowry hasn't thrown a ball at him yet and challenged him to a fight! Watch your back McHale!
Could or could not be related: <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="de"><p>Whud4mL!!!that's how it works!!</p>— Kyle Lowry (@Klow7) <a href="https://twitter.com/Klow7/status/191725332318011393" data-datetime="2012-04-16T03:10:55+00:00">April 16, 2012</a></blockquote> <script src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
We have seen it all year with him, if you read his body language, it just appears he doesn't like McHale all that much. Probably a very smart man this Lowry. DD
Trade him we dont need him anymore, we are better off with Dragon getting heavy minutes and not having to force Dragon to play off the ball.
Lowry is ready to take on more minutes or at least he thinks as much. The biggest problem coaches have is didstributing minutes. Every player wants to play but those who got use to starting hate to give it up. Brooks hated to get beat out by Lowry. Budinger pouted after Parsons took his spot. And now Lowry is upset about getting beat out by Dragic. The coach distributes minutes. I don't know if the OP's post is true or not but I would expect some flak from any ex starter. Lowry is no exception and his strong will and confidence must at least make him feel he is better than Dragic and deserves to be back in the starting position. People don't want to believe it because that makes Lowry a whiner like Martin but what Martin did was completely normal. Watching the team lose when he knows he could help them win. Lowry certainly feels the same way. The real story here is has McHale decided he prefers Dragic or has Morey relayed to McHale if you take away the starting spot from Dragic forget about re-signing him. Yes I believe if the Rockets or serious about re-signing Dragic they will insist McHale never return Lowry to the starting spot. To do anything else would be the end of the Dragic. Why would he be interested in playing for a team that is commited to someone else. If Lowry never starts again that is a decision in favor of Dragic somewhere in the organization. And please do not tell me Lowry is not physically ready. He is ready to play more minutes than he is given and the more you give him the more he will be able to play more. If Lowry doesn't start again he is gone. The question is only when. If we sign Dragic look for the Blazers and Nets to be first in line for Lowry.
Uh oh. It's like the Evil One hates the Devil. DD's mind is exploding. Lowry = Brooks v.2.0 Dragic = Lowry v.2.0
No one likes to be Wally Pipped especially in a contract year. Lowry is under contract there is plenty of time to make things right with him, if we want to keep Goran, he should be starting the rest of the way. DD
What the hell has Kyle Lowry done for this team? Sure, he's a good player who we have at a decent value. What has he accomplished on this team that makes him the clear-cut starter? Being a fringe all-star doesn't do it. Sorry Kyle, but whud4mPERIOD?
I would take the OP's fantasy with a grain of salt. Kyle wants to win. That's the main thing I love about the guy. He shouldn't be smiling on the bench during these last two losses. I would imagine he feels he can contribute and I'd be inclined to agree with him. I don't mind rightfully judging someone on their actions, but clinging onto something to drive your campaign towards Mchale is getting a little rediculous.
You seem to forget that Lowry missed a month of basketball, and probably a lot of endurance and strength due to the infection. Goran is great. I'm glad he is starting right now. But you can't just ignore the level Kyle was playing at prior to his time off.
I haven't forgotten anything. Even before the injury he was a fringe all star. I feel like we have seen his ceiling, and it's no higher than Dragic's. Not to say that Dragic is going to be "The Guy," anywhere either. If he feel's like being the best player on a barely .500 basketball team for a little over a year constitutes a guaranteed starting spot, well.... tough. You get a guaranteed spot when you're indispensable to a team. Lowry has never been that. Nobody on this team is that.
