You will, they said this morning they are letting all the pass people in before they let any opt ins in. They are doing it by when you signed up for the pass and how long your account has been active.

I would've liked a beta invite a month or two ago, but now with release only a month and a half away, I'm not sure I'd play even I did get an invite. I don't want to wear myself out on playing characters that are just going to get wiped and not carry over anyway.

Really looking forward to it, though. This and Dragon's Dogma should occupy the better part of my summer.

I kind of had resigned myself to the same thinking. But actually getting an invite changed my mind. Thankfully, there is very little story to the beta. I am using the last couple of weeks of beta as a chance to try out the different classes, and choose which one I want to start with. It took me only about 2-3 hours to go through the content solo as a Barbarian. I spent even less time going through most of it with a group of 4 of us.

Not sure if anyone else has noticed this, but they've been releasing videos for each class for the past few weeks. Here's the monk video that came out today (class I'll most likely end up playing). I also linked the Barbarian video below; there's an assassin video...but I can't find an embeddable link. Go to diablo3.com if you want to see it. :)

I have little doubt that I will play every class from the early going. The only class I'm ho-hum about is the Demon Hunter. The rest I'm really looking forward to.

I dont know the specifics but I remember them being fairly low, which makes sense if you want to include the most people.

Where is the cheapest place to get this? Or is the standard 59.99 the only way to go?

59.99 is standard, you can either download electronically through blizzard website

or buy the box from a retail store, i would buy the box, blizzard actually includes a couple nifty things... unlike other companies

Yeah, it's 59.99 everywhere. This is where the whole debate about collusion and price fixing comes in, though.

Obviously if you buy an electronic copy from Blizzard, it's cheaper to produce since it's just an electronic download. Blizzard also gets 100% of the profits from it since they're cutting out the middle man. So by this logic the electronic version should really cost less.

On the other hand, retailers wouldn't carry a product from a company that was undercutting them by offering to sell their game as a direct download for $40 or so instead of $60. Hence comes the agreement to price the product the same, regardless of whether it's hard copy or electronic format.

If you like Blizzard and want to give them the biggest benefit for their creation, then you should buy and download it directly from their website. They make a much higher percentage that way, since there are no manufacturer costs and they don't need to give the retailer a cut. And hey, you need to be online for the game to function anyway, so you may as well just download it!

On the other hand, it is sorta nice to have a physical copy. I suspect that eventually companies may stop providing a hard copy as an option, but we're not quite there yet.
